I am new to the India forum. Hopefully I am not braking any rules.
I am going to be traveling Delhi in the next couple of months and am trying to figure out where to stay. My employees made my business partner stay at an American hotel by the airport recently. Crazy US prices and no good food / fun. They said they were afraid for him and that he needed to stay outside the city. The employees had to travel to his hotel and he then had to travel 90+ minutes to a couple of events with the employees.
I will be booking a trip soon and am looking for some advice. My purpose will be business, so I am not looking for recommendations for an obvious red light district. But I cannot believe that there is not an OK area for an American to stay that allows for some decent food and fun. Mongering would also of course be a big plus, but mainly looking for something that would not throw any red flags. I have traveled around the world and am currently in Bogota. I have been to the good areas and the bad areas. I am not looking to slum it, but I am also very flexible in things as long as it is safe.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I know I have nothing to offer, but I will be writing reviews for people like me.
