Thanks for posting. Have to tell you that you got lucky that Joy was happy to accept 1500 Php. Many girls would have demanded / pleaded for much more in light of the fact that you hadn't talked about money until after the deed was done. What a nice welcome to a foreign country. From that moment I knew I would enjoy my vacation!

The girls told me the best option for me to catch a relatively cheap taxi ride to my hotel would be from the place where domestic passengers are dropped off. Being bombarded with impressions I don't quite remember how we got there but I believe we exited the terminal and went to the right a few hundred meters until we took some stairs up to the next level. The girls helped me get a taxi from there and I was heading to my hotel in Ermita. Just on my own, that was.

This first ride made me aware of the same taxi driver hassle which I had also experienced a few times in Bali. Thanks to that, I knew I had to be aware and act promptly in case I noticed any suspicious actions from the drivers and their taximeters. I just behave politely and confront the driver immediately in a serious tone if I notice something wrong. Then it's my experience most drivers will "behave".

I had prebooked a deluxe room at Best Western Hotel in Ermita and was quite happy about the place: nice, clean and with decent breakfast buffet. Only downside was the typical tiled floors in the halls which meant lots of noise inside the room whenever anyone was talking or walking outside. I guess no place is perfect.

Lately on the forum there has been much talk about safety in the Ermita area. Actually I felt rather safe there despite my status of a first timer. By having read many posts here on ISG I knew I would quite likely be fine if I followed common sense. During my stay in Manila I tried walking the streets on any given time during a 24 hour day. Sure, there were slightly aggresive beggars, LB's and the like who tried to get my attention. Whenever that happened, I just kept my focus and kept on walking. The worst in my opinion is the pollution from the jeepneys and other vehicles which really drove (!) me nuts.

OK, let me get to the girly action. Thanks to this forum I knew about Manila Bay Café and I was very eager to see the place. It was Thursday 9 PM and the place was booming with girls and most of them dressed in cute outfits. I didn't plan to bring any girl back to my room. I just wanted to grab a beer and watch the action to see with my own eyes what was going on. The atmosphere seemed great. The only thing I disliked was the amount of smoke in the downstairs main room and a gay-like male employee who suddenly started to massage my shoulders. I waved him away and settled my eyes on the action instead.

My original thought (to just look) was soon shattered as I met a friendly girl who called herself for Joy. I think she said she was 28. She was single mom and had 2 children to support. We didn't settle an exact price. I just told I would reward her for her time with me. She seemed a little shy or unexperienced so I thougt she would not expect more than what I read others pay.

Walking hand in hand with Joy back to my hotel I felt excited for what I was about to enjoy. My heart was racing for the same reason, I think. I couldn't wait to undress and have fun with this girl. It had always been a dream of mine to bed a girl with a small, slim body and an Asian tan. With approximately 40 kilos Joy's body was all I ever wanted. After showering it was obvious to me that her two births only left a few marks. She was a fine sight for sure and I congratulated myself with my choice of girl.

Later visits to MBC were less successful because I made rookie mistakes. I guess it is nearly impossible to avoid them. I learned the hard way to ask the right questions in the bar instead of being sorry later when the intimate action is about to start. If you don't want a girl with smokey breath, ask if she smokes. If a girl with rough, masculine hands is not a turn on for you, then inspect them before you decide. If you are not a fan of tattoos then ask if she has any. I had read about all this on the forum but it wasn't until I made the mistakes on my own that I learned the lessons. Sometimes junior is making decisions too hasty!

Most certainly agree with the advice. I negotiated 3000 for 2 girls (1500 each) with what turned out to be multi pops each. By the end I was barely able to walk! Wouldn't have happened with out the prior negotiation.

Regarding the issue of me posting photos.

I re-read our exchange on the Jakarta forum and if you remember, I was debating the ethics of taking photos back then. Since then I decided not to post photos of the girls with my reports. This was my OWN CHOICE based on what I believed was right, as opposed to your rather naive suggestion that I should be getting girls to sign consent forms. The incident in Manila Bay Cafe to which you allude (day 3 of my diary) goes back to when I DID post a photo of Lina (not her real name by the way) after my 2010 trip.

Since last year or so MBC has a policy where if you buy the STAFF a drink they do charge you extra for it. The staff gets 50 peso a drink. Why would anyone buy a drink to a waitress in MBC is beyond me when they have a policy of no bar fines and if she gets caught with a customer she loses her job.

Working girls drinks are prices as per usual and they don't get peso for it. Each girl HAS to consume at least ONE drink before she leaves otherwise in future she may be refused entry. This is why the get tickets / stamps when they get a drink, the guard at the door checks before they leave.

On the other hand you can easily dump the waitress if a real hottie comes around.

And actually I have been dating a few of the waitresses on their day off, taking them out for coffee, and on one occasion one of them asked me to wait for her outside MBC when her shift was over, because she wanted to spend the night with me.

I will pass by Manila next week on my way to Cebu. I arrive at the international terminal just before midnight and will take the first flight to Cebu (domestic terminal) in the morning at 04. 30. If my incoming flight is on time and I find a left-luggage facility in the domestic terminal I plan to take a cab to EDSA International Entertainment Complex in Pasay City and spend two hours there, it looks like a cab ride should only take 10-15 mins and the pussybars at EDSA will not close until 3-4AM right?

The last post about the Entertainment Complex was in 2010, if anything dramatic has changed can you let me know?

I reckon traffic should be minimal between 12midnight and 3AM?

Wow, you like to cut things fine.

It will take maybe 30-40 mins to get through immigration and customs.

Your options for left luggage and onward movement will depend on the airlines that you are flying, and therefore the terminals which you will use. Distances between the Cebu Pacific terminal, and terminal 1 could take 30 to 40 mins, depending.

There are left luggage facilities in the Cebu Pacific terminal, but I do not know about the others. But I suspect that they may be closed at that time of night.

You are correct that traffic should be light, and the EDSA complex is not far from the airport. Make sure that you are at check in one hour before departure, just in case there is a stuff up. I was almost refused a seat when I arrived at check in 45 mins before departure.

It seems to me like a lot of hassle and rush for a quick visit to a girlie bar. But there again, you may have substantial reserves of essential bodily fluids that you need to discharge urgently.

She was really nice, a refreshing change from the rest of the clientele. Waited till her shift was over (which was 8 30am) and met her in Amazonia. Went back to the hotel and she stayed until just before her shift started again in the evening. She was a little worried about other people knowing about it. Very cute girl actually, one of the best I had on the trip.

Still cost me about the same as a ST though, I bought her a few LD's and wrangled a few more out of me for her colleagues / friends. Put a stop to that soon enough though.
