I always stay at the Flipper House and they are very guest friendly. They post the security guard at the entrance at night to collect the girls I.D. but they don't charge a joiner fee.
Has anyone stayed at this Welcome Plaza Hotel ? The location seems to be convenient and price reasonable.
i would appreciate information on how the room is and whether it is GF.
Thanks.
SJ
Can someone confirm if this hotel is GF (Girl Friendly)? Do frequent the area and would like to try an area outside of Soi 8 but don't want to end up in a non-GF hotel. That would spoil my entire holiday!
Greetings all.
As a Pattaya first-timer, I'm trying to narrow down my hotel options with the following criteria:
1. Around 1, 000 baht/day
2. In-room safe (preferred, but not a must)
3. Shower is western-style (I. E. Not just a shower hose over the toilet and spraying everywhere)
4. Bed is actually one piece and not two small beds pushed together
5. Located near Soi 8 bar area (I wouldn't want to be wandering too much while [CodeWord140] drunk in a new, strange, yet incredible place! )
I've searched this forum rather thoroughly for such a hotel, but couldn't find a place that met all criteria. Flipper House seemed perfect, but then read they push 2 single beds to make a queen size. That seemed like an uncomfortably bad idea, especially since I intend to use that bed to its fullest!
Many thanks in advance for everyone's help. Also, much gratitude to Mai Yao, Gwailo and especially RetiredForever for guiding this newbie. If you guys are there in May, I'm buying you a beer!
Gren, the Queen Victoria Inn seems to meet most of your requirements. It's not on 7 or 8, but soi 6 is very near and is not a quiet soi in it's own right. I've only eaten and had drinks at this place (English pub-style and 6/10 IMO), but friends have stayed there and give it the thumbs-up.
Stayed here for 7 nights just recently, (13 /3 - 20/3). Its located at the following address; 240/5 Moo 5 Soi Ping Pa, Pattaya City (North), Chonburi 20150.
Not a bad place, abit out of the way from all the action, but still aright. Overnight guests are not welcome, or so it says in their booklet, but I bought home a few ladies and had no troubles. Had to pay the extra charge for a guest and all it was was 100 baht!
This resort though is German owned, so 98% of the guests were naturally German. I was the only Australian. Would I stay there again, probaly not, I'd get a place a bit more central to walking St. etc. Still pretty cheap and nice facilities.

As nice as this hotel may be, give it a miss. First, it is pretty tucked away, so you will need to catch their shuttle or take a good 10 minute walk from 2nd road.
Secondly, the staff stopped me when I tried to bring a lady in and I got stung with a 500 baht fee.
Trying to find first hand info, little on the net about this small hotel on soi 13.
I know it is GF, has WIFI (comp), pool. Any reviews?
Appreciate it.
I will be visiting next week my first time during Songkran, are the hotels any busier while the water festival is on?
I have Emailed my usual hotel twice but they just don't reply, I intend to make a few damp patches myself during my visit!
May the force be with you.

They do tend to be busier as it is a holiday so I would book in advance

sounds OK - most of the places on 13 are OK
thanks, but i saw the web site and it really doesn't show very much.
i was hoping for a first hand report.
my preferences are location, comp wifi/ high speed internet, safe box in room, frig, and pool (since the beach is so filthy).
prefer price in the 1000-1200 range.
i guess i can always move if i have to, did that last year from bj lodge due to construction noise.
regards. 12 days and counting.
lk metro btw is a buzzing place. it would be hard to justify going to walking street staying here. in fact it is so good that [CodeWord900] is 20 metres away, and the hell club another 30, both of which i swore i'd visit, but never did. there's a gogo (champagne) 3 doors down, restaurants coming out of your arse, and beer bars, internet cafes, visa places, laundries, everything within a small stagger. i highly recommend the accommodation and the area.

i wouldn't compare walking street to lk metro street. to me walking street is still superior though i will agree that lk metro does have a little of everything going on. they even had a mobile bar in front of the lk metropole when i was there last...
Was wondering if any one stayed at Secrets Hotel yet? Look pretty good though staying there would truly test my rule of mongering.... Don't Crap where you sleep... And with that bar and night club located in the hotel I might break that rule LOL...
