I was in Fortaleza last week.
As I was there just for 1 day and 2 nights, my experiences were limited.
Besides a day to the beach (as always perfect weather), both nights I took the easy route to Tremembés (plus a quick visit to Zipi Bar, not much happening, on walking distance).
For new visitors to Fortaleza, this street is 1 block from Forro do Pirata the tourist attraction with live Forro performances.
Since my last visit about a half year ago, there were some changes:
- Europa is closed.
- Café del Mar was renovated, but not really improved in my view. The balcony is now separated from the inside by a dark window alongside the bar (just a 20 cm gap above the bar to order your drink). Also much quieter than before.
- Forro mambo is now the busiest place (almost dead last year). Watch your tab, if not careful (especially with girls who ask cocktails or the infamous Red Bull/wodka) the bill can be higher than from the tln GdP later that night.
Not changed:
The men: Italians and in lesser extent Dutch.
Although funny to talk with 2 Cariocas about the differences between their beloved Rio and Fortaleza.
Quality of girls vary much, the short ones in the majority.
Funny to see quite a few old war horses and many so unattractive (course faces, fat) that you wonder if this is a fetish for many Italian men.
Also quite a big scene of regulars, I see there each time I visit for years.
The real attractive girls know it and their market-value (and I'm a shallow sucker for beauty) ranging from R$ 150 tot R$ 300 tln or R$ 150 st. Most of those have stories about visits to Europe, almost without exception with an Italian guy, ranging from skiing-holidays to living together for extended periods.
Others I found available from R$ 75 tln.
One rule about body-tightness: girls with a tight belly almost without exception wear a short shirt and belly button in view or a tight dress.
All girls with a loose shirt or dress have flabby bellies.
Watch out for spontaneous bare sex. I was surprised twice. One time the girl pulled the condom of in the middle of a session. Of course I noticed after a few strokes. The funny thing is that she had complained before about the difficulties of having a 5 month baby at home (from an Austrian guy, who had left her). So I asked if she didn't think it risky she'd get pregnant again this way and she just shrugged it off with a "I'll see then".
With their logic I doubt I'll ever win any discussion with them.
But somehow this is part of their appeal for me.
