Help in Bucharest and Cluj
Hey guys,
Just wanted to know if anyone has any advice for clubs, bars, discos for meeting regular, not working girls. I want fun places, cool girls, good house music or hip hop.
I have about 5 days and can either go to Cluj or Bucharest. Any advice is greatly appreciated as I have never been before.
Thanks!
Is the UNRI area good for apartments?
Dear all, I am looking at short term apartments with three bedrooms, they all are in the UNRI area. Is this safe? Close to anything interesting?
thanks
Flats in Bucharest - Is Unri safe?
Code -
I have been to Bucharest three time sin the past nine months for work and seem to find Bucharest very safe. Just be aware of the rip-off taxi drivers, pickpockets and rogue policeman trying to ask for your ID....
Uril is a central area in Bucharest and seems safe. Can I suggest you try the website www.inyourpocket.com and look for Bucharest. In this guide, you may find listings for accomodation agencies and everything else.
Good luck and I hope you have a grest stay in Bucharest!

Price bump in hourly rates?
I recall that a few months ago someone posted here asking what impact, if any, EU membership would have on P4P.
I've made a couple of online enquiries since and have noticed that some girls are now quoting 150E/hour rather than 100E. Although it is pretty much inevitable girls will add a Westerner Premium, I really dont get why they believe they can get away with such a price bump. I also know Buc well enough to be able to find other options.
I certainly would not pay 150E/hour, and I have responded to these girls - good looking, but not model quality - that they are being silly quoting those rates.
Anyone else have any thoughts/similar experiences?
The best areas to stay and Price Bump
Dear all, I am looking at short term apartments with three bedrooms, they all are in the UNRI area. Is this safe? Close to anything interesting?
thanks
The best areas for a visitor to stay in Bucharest is Unirii, University, Romana, or Victoria Piata. They are all served by the same metro line. Romana has slightly more bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood than the others. Unirii has more “new” apartment buildings and parking is easier at some of the newer buildings that are not close to the metro station. The 4 piata are the very center of Bucharest. There are many scams on the streets of Bucharest but violent crimes are relatively few. I have never been stopped by the real police while I was walking in the street (only when I was driving) but I was stopped by the fake ones many times.
Regarding the other post of “Price bump in hourly rates?”
I don’t think price has jumped in Bucharest as a result of joining EU, at least for the ones that are not targeting foreigners. The most common price for sex as advertised online in the local paper website ( http://www.anuntul.ro/rubrica.php?id=54) remains the same -- 150 Ron (less than 50 euros); so is the advertised rate for erotic massages (45 euros). I think the price has more to do with competition. About 4 years ago, there were about 2 to 3 erotic massage parlors advertised in magazines and I paid 60 euros. Now there are easily more than 10-15 erotic massage parlors advertised in anutul and magazines.
who who cares about the prices, lets go party while we can
all i can suggest, lets harvest while the crop is ripe.
I remember being in CZ & PL 10 years ago, it was playboy paradise for anyone half smart with some cash & brains.
RO similar, why stress about a fuss about a few pesos....get out there and party, its not going to be the same for much longer.
clock is ticking.
am in town this week BUC, pm me if u want to hook up.
I agree with Traveller 2. It doesnt seemt o me that prices have jacked up that much recently. Maybe thats because I was getting ripped off before? I'm planning a trip in late April (avoiding Easter when everything will be dead) and am getting quoted around the 200-300 Euro mark for the night from various girls picked up on Simpatie and Sentimente. Of course it remains to be seen whether or not they trn up, resemble their photos and stay the duration. But I'm ever the optomist.
Any one else in Buc in last April?
New to the forum and Romania
Hi,
I've been reading this forum for a few hours now and have a few questions that hopefully you seasoned mongers can answer for a relative new comer.
I'm heading to Bucharest this weekend for Easter, 4 days in Romania and looking forward to some Eastie action. I'm staying smack in the centre near the university in the Majestic and was wondering if anyone had any information on 1. getting women in there, any problems with the staff and 2. if there was any action in the hotel itself (lobby).
One thing that worried me was a recent post that said Easter was a bad time to head there, everything closed. Tell me this isn't true, if so any ideas on what to do.
Going to check out some of the bars mentioned (Downtown, Quando, Office, Planters, Bonsi, and Bamboo) and maybe a few nightclubs. Sounds like the Inter has some lobby action and thought maybe the Marriott too.
BTW What's it like for walking around the streets at night, safe enough? I tend to like to walk rather than taxi, get to see more of whats going on but there were some comments on fake police etc.
Hope someone can help with some information, much appreciated and will report when I get back.
