I think NEP has really gone downhill; some of the GREAT bars of YEARS past are wastelands now, and I do mean wastelands - not ugly girls, but FEW girls. Years past, G-spot, at the "all dance" number, the stage was so crowded, all the girls would barely fit. Was in there last month, 4 girls dancing... Voodoo was a desert.

Rainbow bars are known for having the best lookers, but also known for their [i]appreciation[/i] of the Japanese. But I've certainly had girls (OK, 1 :) ) flirt with me, and I'm not Japanese :)

It all comes down to (and this is true anywhere): do you find her attractive, and how is her [i]attitude[/i] towards you? Soi Cowboy (Sukhumvit, Soi 21, Asoke) - you can see it from the sky train station - is the most "alive" right now, just has that feel. You can easily walk, well, slowly, and watch out for all the street vendors, from Nana to Cowboy. If uncertain, grab a taxi. But the street (it is a street, not a plaza like Nana) just feels alive. Like I said, I've seen several "appealing to me" girls in Tilac (a BIG bar - think Nana of the 'good old days'), and even a SMALL bar like Live Music has 1 or 2 attractive girls.

If nothing else, pick a table OUTSIDE, have a drink, watch the passing parade, and if you see an attractive girl(s) passing, keep an eye on her to find out where she works. Can help if you pay your tab early to allow a fast get-away... Not encouraging stalking, but check out "her" bar, and if she's not interested, others might be. If unsuccessful, repeat...

If you're looking for the "best" deal, the "best" girl, think you'll always be sadly disappointed. I got some fantastic advice when I first came here a long time ago. I was like a kid in a candy store: Look, I'll have that. No, wait, I'll have that. Wait, I like that better. A good friend told me, 11B, pick one, take her, enjoy. You can always come back again and try another...

BF's vary by bar (more likely area); "services" by girl. And that depends on a LOT of things - [b]market[/b], time of night (yes, going late, you can get some 'desperate' girls, but then again, you also have to ask yourself what will the service be like if she's just desperate), how she "likes" you (if she offers 5000, that's really a "no thank you"), if she's short of her bf quota, how much she needs cash, her calculation on how much "more" business she can do that night, her plans "later", ...

Best thing to do is just ask. Simple, "You go LT? How much?" You can always say "Sorry, no thank you", just as she can. :)

Why not stop the attractive girl and negotiate a threesome? if they are ok, you are the big winner... but if they aren't, ditch the one you don't want...

as you said earlier, you can always come back to have the other one later... I mean, they're hookers, not girlfriends so they will be upset on the spot but go back with you the next day because you have something they want: $$$

I was really trying to point out for those who have not ventured to the BG7, having heard all the [i]dragon[/i] stories, was that, for me, anyway, there is a fairly constant parade (even if slow, and often obscured) of female customers who I find very attractive and could walk out the door with. I have yet to be there when I haven't seen at least 1.

The other point is, as I've said before, is exactly what I like about the BG7 - the [i][u]shifting[/u][/i] choices, the now-you-see-them, now-you-don't effect, though it can sometimes be difficult to find [u]her[/u] again, especially if your time here is limited. But there is always someone else... A [u]constant[/u] parade.

As to the "good" news part? Don't regret my decision at all... :)

Although I have a solution to my problem I don't think that most of you will agree with me. On my first trip to BKK I was told "you see, you like, you buy. " So if I come across a dashing young lady early in the night, I will BF her and tell her I will be back later. I will then proceed to continue my search for perfection. If I don't find anyone then I can always go back to a good pick or if I find a better girl I will just go with her. Its like a WG layaway program.

But thats just me, I don't mind spending 600 baht on a girl that I might not even take home. I like to know that I have some kind of safety net for me at the end of the night.

you could try one of the guesthouses along soi 4. there used to be one opposite the big mango bar which is on an alley off soi 4, opposite raja hotel with checkers bar on the corner. that guesthouse seems to have been renovated. i have no idea on price or quality. it certainly used to have short term rates.

often the girl will know a short-time place nearby but in the past i have also experienced girls bringing me to hotels that cost 1,500 a night and receptionist won't agree a short-term rate. i have never heard of any security problem with going to a place suggested by a bar girl.

short-time rooms become more difficult to find during busy times - like the upcoming water festival. you might want to consider booking and paying a guest house for the whole night - remember to bring your passport if you do. this will cost you usually between 600 and 800 baht per night.

i am wary of recommending a particular place to you as i have not done the short-time hotel thing for many years and things change quickly in bkk. also i have no idea of your budget and expectations.

No offense intended, but worrying about a safety net in bangkok seems completely unnecessary. In some places and situations I can imagine it is rational to reserve and then come back in case you don't find something better... but in Bangkok there are literally hundreds of available gorgeous women within a few blocks of each other. Between Nana, Thermae, Biergarten and Cowboy, not to mention all the soapies, massage places, street walking FLs, how could one possibly be worried about not finding something you like? I can imagine getting frozen by having too many that I like and being unable to choose, but that's a different problem!

Why did you keep her if the service is bad. Katooeys taking over that place! Nana Hotel parking lot used to have some local fresh talent. Was with Bangkok Expat, and we still had some difficulty eyeing some who were genuine articles or not.

Decided to test it out, younger petite one in sundress refused to lower past 1.2BHT, so I relented and walked her up to security. Asked to see ID, lo and behold, katooey. Sent him on his way.

Gave in, and barfined go-go at Rainbow 4. Great body, but lousy service.

I have been to Bangkok many times and have found that most of good talent is not working in Singapore.

NEP is gone downhill and very few girls. Not willing for long time.

Been here for 24 hrs now and have been rocking with beer garden soi 7. Have to use my experience an dpeople skills to filter. Average price is 1000 ST and anything over is upto you if she is looker and hot. I always do a deal on 900 and promise tip minimum 100. That way I am sort of putting a cap at 1000 but can go more if she puts in all effort.

Most of the girls in Beer Garden are not LT as they all either work on ST all day or come there after work. So do not attempt to even try LT.

Past experience. LT has translated to following; Drunk and useless, tired and sleepy, do a runner as have got baby at home etc. Only one time a sucess story of LT as she was new to BK from Esan, however no english. Only sign language.
