It's important to read about the negatives as well as the positives on this forum. But don't take this the wrong way, you had LOTS of negatives.

Some of them I think could have been avoided with a bit more common sense (for example, paying up front for the condo, leaving valuables in your room etc) but others left me scratching my head. On the one hand you knew you were overcharged in EDSA and yet you paid anyway (?). Is that the same person who was emboldened enough to return next day to complain to the mamasan about the girl?

I've seen you a few times on this site and it seems you have lots of negative experiences. It can't just be bad luck. Maybe you need to analyse things subjectively. Maybe it's the way you dress? The way you speak to people? The way you try to resolve issues? Maybe it's the way you act or the way you flash the cash? When I've been mongering I've seen people acting in such a way they may as well have 'beginner' stamped on their forehead. Girls will always try it on with those types. I'm not being judgemental, I just assume there's more to this than meets the eye. I'm certain anyone of any race can have a great time in Philippines if their attitude / modus operandi is good.

Good to hear you had at least some good experiences though.

Wow after reading starchilds post I don't think I would go to Philippines. Luckily I have already been there and not one of those experiences sound anything like I experienced. I have never took a girl out for food or dinner and she got something expensive. In fact the opposite I usually have a hard time getting the girls to eat, I mean they weigh about 80lbs soaking wet. A lot of your complaints you are correct in saying they are newbie mistakes. But honestly I think Philippines is one of the best country to make those mistakes and get away with it. I called for a massage girl at like 2am after getting smashed at the bars, she was there pretty fast and once she started the massage ten minutes later I was passed out! A few hours later I awoke, she was sitting on a chair watching me sleep. Although a little creepy she had no intention of robbing me and probably was dreaming about a life in the US. The girls I did meet that were about money were pretty fair and did not push the envelope at all IMO. Now I can't speak for everyone, but DIA is almost completely worthless. There are diamonds in the rough but I have a lot more luck just meeting girls at the mall or anywhere out and about. I like a club that is frequented with models and the rich, it's the only place I've been in Philippines that is void of working girls. The models that approached me there were the exact opposite of how you described. I had one get very mad at me for giving her 2000 pesos to get more drinks while I went to the bathroom. I originally thought she was mad because I treated her like a bar maid, it's a neg I commonly do to a girl to make her try harder to gain my affection. Anyway that was not the case and she was made because she thought in giving her money I was treating her like I could buy her. Pinay are awesome, there's bad in every country but it seems you only run into the bad. I do wonder how much my blonde hair blue eyed light skin makes a difference. I never get frisked there and they let me break rules in clubs which in the US would take money, I'm sure if I were asian I would be treated different. I never understand why they frisk and wand their own but when I walk through they never check me. If I were a local that would make me mad.

I got the distinct impression, they were there to entertain the middle aged Japanese guys. I might be wrong about that but I just had to say something about the Russian / Polish connection.

Do you mean the Japanese guys had brought them in or that the "Russian-type" ladies (whatever that means) , were staying around Mactan to cater for such a demand? I am frequently bemused why tourists would come to Asia and particularly the Philippines to sample "blonde, white women" when the honey colored variety is more plentiful and dare i say enjoyable. JMHO.

Although SK and GE have remarked already on the "Polish" factor, I think a reread will show that GE meant to say "polish" as in the sort of result one wants when one shines one's shoes.
