That's so right and Brave
Dear ISG Members.
I'm writing to share a recent, alarming experience I had in Bangalore Last week that I hope will serve as a serious warning for everyone.
I had arranged a meeting with a woman who went by the name Nayna Rao Number Ending with. 99483. Everything seemed to be in orderwe exchanged messages, she shared her location, and even participated in a brief video call. Everything checked out, so I went ahead with the meeting.
However, when she arrived, it was immediately clear that something was off. She didn't look like her photos or the video, which was the first red flag. Then, she attempted to lure me with a lower payment offer, suggesting I could pay less and still enjoy our time together. I declined, and that's when the situation escalated rapidly.
She suddenly turned aggressive, accusing me of trying to frame her for sex under the guise of offering her a job. She then demanded ₹50,000 via UPI or an online payment to "let the matter go". When I refused and insisted that she leave, her behavior took another alarming turn. She pretended to be involved with the cybercrime and women's cell, claiming this was part of a sting operation. She started recording our conversation and made a call, which led to me getting several intimidating calls from random WhatsApp numbers.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, I immediately called hotel security, opened the door, and positioned myself in the doorway while she remained seated on the couch. The security team responded quickly, taking her downstairs. After about 20 minutes, I was called to the conference room where she falsely accused me of drug use, excessive alcohol consumption, and forcing myself on her under the pretext of offering employment.
Hotel security searched my room during my absence and, of course, found nothing. When challenged, she even pretended to have our WhatsApp conversation saved, but conveniently, it had "vanished. " Security eventually confirmed that she had companions waiting in a car outside, and that's how she left the premiseswithout a word when the hotel threatened to call the police and take legal action against her.
Reflecting on this situation, I believe I narrowly avoided a much worse scenario. Here are a few critical takeaways I want to emphasize:
Meet in Public First: Always insist on meeting in a public place, like a hotel lobby or caf, before proceeding further. This gives you the chance to verify the person's identity and intentions.
Opt for High-Standard Hotels: Choose a reputable 4- or 5-star hotel. The security and professionalism of the staff can make a significant difference in such situations. If I had been in an Airbnb or OYO, the outcome could have been very different.
Keep Your Personal Info Private: Use a separate phone and number for such meetings. In my case, she only had the information I provided, which worked in my favor. The hotel staff took my main phone for verification, found nothing incriminating, and this helped to prove her falsehoods.
Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, it probably is. Don't let offers of discounted rates or other temptations cloud your judgment.
Plan Your Exit Strategy: Be prepared to leave or call for help if the situation takes a turn. I was fortunate to have stayed in a place with professional security who responded promptly.
This experience was both stressful and embarrassing, but it could have been far worse. Please take these precautions seriously, and always prioritize your safety over convenience or savings.
Stay safe, everyone!
Hats off to you bro for being brave and standing up rather than giving in.
I had a very similar incident long back and luckily was able to challenge the person and others calling on her behalf.
Since I was also using a private number, I knew all unknown calls are related to this incident and kept telling every one that am recording the call. After about 6-7, they all died out realising nothing is going to come out of me.
Salute to you bro and am sure it will help a lot of others who face similar situation.
Stay safe and have fun.
Cheers.
