No idea but my friend in Cartegena says thinks should be worked out by November.
Hope things get normal soon. Planning a trip in December for Cartagena.
So is anyone in Cartagena? Thinking about going in 2 weeks. Just wondering how the girls are working since I'm sure they aren't letting them hang out at the clock tower.
Best advice is to wait till November.
But if the beach is open in Bocagrande they will be walking in the late evening. But Hollywood is closed for now

Beaches are open, but the clock tower scene made me remember about the Trump 2020 slogan of No Joe, no ho.
For Cartagena 2020, it is no blow and no ho. Though there was one guy trying to sell me something. It is nowhere close to what is being described in Medellin or Bogota. I would only go if you had someone lined up like I did. There literally were no working girls around the clock tower that I saw.

But rumor is the Apts are being more strict than usual about visitors. Is there a curfew? Bars open?
I have a couple of solid contacts. But rumor is the Apts are being more strict than usual about visitors. Is there a curfew? Bars open?
It's not a rumor. You can't register visitors. Pools are closed. I posted about this a while ago. This may change in the future but that's the status right now. All the chicas I know have gone to Bogota and a few to Medellin.
No guests is a game killer! Are the beaches open? I'm hearing conflicting reports.
Not Playa Hollywood. They have opened some small beach areas. That's what I was told last week.
EDIT: There's a reason for this. You can't just turn on an entire tourist economy in a day. Most hotels and businesses will want to wait until at least mid November as a start date. They need a percentage of business to justify being open. That's not going to happen immediately. Until that critical mass hits Cartagena will be in this weird half-opening stage.

Playa Azul has been opened, Bocagrande beach to be opened next week. I don't know which bars are opened, not a big deal to call each place you are planning to visit. Visitors: Call / email the owner or management about their current policy or just rent a place without a security / concierge. I would still wait until next month. The statements that all girls have left are obviously false.
Tony is shutvdown for now. He is crying of course. Stay tuned.
But rumor is the Apts are being more strict than usual about visitors. Is there a curfew? Bars open?
I mostly hung around with my chica but we went to the Fort area / Clock tower area at around 8:30 PM and left an hour or so after. Bars were open, but she was freaking about a 9 PM curfew. We left area around 9:30 PM or so. There were still people out eating and drinking after 9 PM but she said, "These people live here" whatever that meant.
I stayed at the Radison which I think is about a mile or so from the Clock Tower I think. Beach was open (though it was not a really nice beach, more dirt than sand). Restaurant was open in hotel. Pool was open. I got a large suite for $75.
I knew my companion's name and registered for two. My gal showed up in short shorts, and hotel clerk asked me if this was going to be my only "guest", and I said it was. If it was not, he would have charged me $75 more per guest.
I ran into this situation in Medellin as well, paying a room fee for a guest and did so twice.
It was my first and only time in Cartagena. I am not sure how you would manage seeing multiple women there. I am sure it can be done, but I would suspect it would not be easy. If you want to see multiple women, I would think going to Santa Fe in Bogota or the casas in Medellin would be a much easier way to go.

I used to use them over the years. If the apartment was good for 4 people. You could register, and have up to 3 visitors at a time. It was a convoluted system where anyone registered as a guest would eat up that slot until the end of your booking. If you had a chica registered as a guest (not a visitor) she could stay over night but you could only then have two more visitors before your four person occupancy was up. It didn't matter if she left and handed in her bracelet.
Long story short, all the buildings I used to use at this time are not allowing visitors just guests. Interesting your hotel was still taking $75 per additional guest (or visitor?
If you read this thread, over the years it has been stated countless times: DO NOT GO TO A HOTEL, even more a high-tier hotel, if you want to bring girls to your room. This principle has been elaborated under any possible perspective in this thread. Hotels do whatever possible to discourage or even prohibit people to bring girls in. The way to go in Cartagena is renting an apartment, and not any apartment, but an apartment in a building where guests are allowed.
This was before COVID. Now, we read that rules have become much stricter, and buildings in Laguito and Bocagrande formerly known to be very girl friendly now stop visitors (for obvious reasons I would say).
