{S N I P} Foreign countries are not the object of the protest so foreigners are safe as they are not the focus of the protesters. However, they might be the focus of big brother. {S N I P}
I don't think that there is much to worry about, but if you are concerned, then do not use Wechat (Weixin) or Firechat. They are closely monitored. Although Firechat does not use a server per se, it is easy for others to 'join' the mesh network.
Line and Kakaotalk are OK as their servers are secure in Korea. Not sure about WhatsApp.
My 3 friends and I went there recently on a Sunday afternoon about 5 pm. We were immediately hanging out with 4 cute, flirty Filipinas, average age of 30+/ We all danced and partied with them for about 2 hours. The girls were draped over us, and we could grind and hump them easily while dancing. They enjoyed themselves and we were in heaven. The girls had such great attitudes. We did buy them drinks which seemed much higher priced than our own beverages. We wondered what the deal was with the girls and the bar. Are they getting a kickback or credit? It really didn't matter other than we were curious on their deal.
We did wonder how we could score with them back to the flat we rented through AirBNB in Central. My buddies split but I stayed in hopes of bedding my 8/10 cutie. However, I could not get her to go. She sounded and acted very sincere in explaining that she had to be home by 8 pm, otherwise, she risked getting in trouble with her employer. There was no mention of money by her, and I don't know that it would have made a difference. She seemed genuinely sad that the time did not permit for strapping it on.
Questions:
What do those with experience know about the girls at Players? Are there some who charge and others who don't? If so, what is the breakdown percentage wise?
Any thoughts on how much the fare is?
Also, what is their deal with the bar in terms of drinks, etc?
Where else would you recommend beside Players?
If you had RTFF'd before your visit, you would have quickly learned that the Filipina girl was not lying when she said that she had to be home by 8 pm, since it was Sunday. It's too bad that you didn't run into that young lady earlier in the day; if you had made your move at 5:30 or 6, she probably would have gone back to your room for a quick shag before going home before the 8 pm curfew time. And, depending on the girl, she may have charged very little or even done it for free, as long as she can get home on time. These domestic helpers work hard 6 days a week and Sunday is their only chance to have some fun.
You also would have learned about the higher-priced "lady drinks" also that in most cases those girls are drinking plain iced tea, with no alcohol at all in it. That racket can be found in other cities as well as Hong Kong; I've experienced it in places as diverse as Tunis, Tunisia and Innsbruck, Austria.
Anyone familiar with Players bar on Lockhard Rd in Wanchai?
I am not but you might try RTFF. Been several posts.
{S N I P} Read the CNN and SCMP articles on the methods of communications used when traffic is blocked / censored.
I am unsure as to which SCMP article you refer (I do subscribe to SCMP).
HK security and China PSB personnel were and still are listening to all Firechat messages internal to the Occupy Central movement. Firechat is a very primitive mesh network that does not even have private messaging functionality. The OC people were very foolish to concentrate on using this app. They may as well have just sent every message directly to the HK and PRC security organisations. And yes, I know that people were sending disinformation messages, some of it likely to be coming from local security personnel.

Save your $
Questions:
Take a stroll around the streets in Wanchai, e. G. Near rail station in the early evening is my favourite, and watch for the eyes of those approaching. Smile, say goodday, and stop. If they are available, the will stop and chat. Suggest going to a love hotel or to your hotel. Works every time, and saves a lot of time and heaps of dollars on drinks, fees etc.

Open suggestions
Having written a couple of items on the "FF", I hope the brethern will not mind if I ask a seemingly silly question. I have the better part of an afternoon or evening in the "Fragrant Harbour" city next week. I am trying to find a moderate to higher end Spa or massage location where I can enjoy a relaxing oil massage in a nice setting (private room, shower, and a real door) with the high probability of at least a happpy ending.
All input is appreciated, and if you prefer to reply via PM I will respect your privacy.
TIA.

Word is that there are some pre / post operation WG(?) in that area.
I am unsure as to which SCMP article you refer (I do subscribe to SCMP).
Then I would suggest Google. Also, you might want to look up a recent of arrest of a protester, aka Captain America. LOL.

Perhaps you could be helpful instead of being condescending.
And I do know about the security and censorship situation in HK and PRC WITHOUT having to read plagiarised crappy media reports.

Temple St area
Congratulations on an excellent report of the Temple St area!
I am guessing that you can speak a little Mandarin. As most mainland girls don't speak any English, and I think come from areas in China where there are few western punters, it can be a little difficult for tourists to negotiate price and services (without any knowledge of Mandarin). Sign language is of course the answer here and a good tip is for tourists to learn the hand signs for cardinal numbers 1 thru 10.
Ikks.
P.S. My recent experience of the Temple St market (post 2014 yanda and mainly during the daytime) is that there are early 20's Chinese girls if you look around. Not all are 30 something girls.
Correct, Ikksman, I do indeed speak Mandarin. I should have mentioned this. Even so, for those who speak little to no Chinese, I think most of the girls in that zone would make an effort to communicate and the dialogue is pretty simple. After all, you won't be discussing particle physics. When they see me coming most of the girls say "massaggee? So most of them are not averse to dealing with westerners. The exceptions are the young, petite ones. I have been turned down on a couple of occassions by young cuties in that area, both of whom told me I was "too big", but this happens all over China to us westerners from time to time.
As I mentioned in the post, perhaps 90% are 30 ish and beyond. Amongst the remaining 10%, though, can be found some as young as 19-20. For younger, more attractive girls, in my experience, the walk-ups a bit further north are a surer bet.

The more posts that I read and the greater my experience, convinces me that the average of working ladies in Hong Kong is around 30, if not higher.

In Chang Ping even the mamasans were likely to be under 30. And following the 2014 CNY yanda, a continual flow into HK of girls, trained to CP ISO standard, would have boosted the HK economy. And all those thousands of Hongkongese, who previously frequented CP, would instead spend their hard earned dollars locally. Just a thought (mostly tongue in cheek)!

Ikks.
Well it can be tricky for mainlanders to get a visa. That probably answers your question. And its a world-wide trend for escorts to be older. Certain that on average more are over 30 than under 30. Older escorts are more experienced and skilled and will often give a better service.
Well it can be tricky for mainlanders to get a visa. That probably answers your question.
I wondered about that. But I could not reason why older PRC girls could get visas, and only a few younger girls could. I think there may be other answers.
There are often 30+ girls in the Shenzhen escort and some massage places. Many of these services are controlled by Triad / Black Society organisations. Maybe they use their 'influence' to get visas for their girls.

Where else would you recommend beside Players?
I've never been to players but most of the bars around that area there operate a similar MO.
Most DHs live in and even on their sundays off most have a 'curfew' to be back at their employer residence by 8 or 9 pm.
Because these girls only make $4000 HK a month, which most gets sent home, the bars generally offer a 'token' scheme where drinks bought for girls will usually be double the price of the normal drink and the girls take home HK25 per drink or something like that. Good for the bar, good for the girl. They normally ask for a white russian or something which is mainly milk, so they don't end up getting too smashed before they get home. How do you score with these chicks? Get their numbers and arrange to meet them earlier on their day off would be my advice. A lot are bored out of their minds, sex-starved and will go for free, although a little taxi fare is always appreciated.
After curfew time the 'normal' girls disappear and the pros move in. They will definitely expect to be paid!!
The more posts that I read and the greater my experience, convinces me that the average of working ladies in Hong Kong is around 30, if not higher.
There was a post about a punter being shocked that a WG he was banging was not in her twenties but the same age as his mother. In general, Asian women tend to age more gracefully and do not show their age as much (please correct me if I am wrong) as women from other countries. I am always surprised at how some punter still go with really rough looking WGs.
