But seriously, Skitt, Brasil is such a very, very, very different ball-game to Thailand. Ok, your money goes out your cock goes in, but that's about it IMHO. They have a very different mentality. You will quiite possibly spend your first trip (if this is your first trip) playing catch-up. If your Brasilian friend is a non-monger, are you seriously going to want to hang out with a puta for your stay in front of him? If so, you might as well let him do all the 'arranging' for you, if he's willing. Maybe phone a few adverts in the O Globo newspaper. The scene is very vaied and far more complex imo than Thailand or most of the Far East countries.

Your chances of negotiating the type of deal you mention (without spending a lot of money) are possibly slim. Something about a taxi stand or a taxi queue. The note speculates that maybe a person will no longer be able to hail a cab from level 2 of the airport. Does anyone have any current info on whether or not you can still hail a cab from level 2?

Finally got off my ass and left work "early" to go to Centro. Hit 4x4 as I hadn't been there for a while and wanted to see the situation.

Arrived at around 7pm. It was *PACKED.
