So would you say that Cafe do Mar and Mambos are the places to go each night for some good action? (by action I mean a nice club to chill, have some fun and pick a chick like say Armazem on Wednesday nights)?

For all of use that have spent some time in Fortaleza, how would you compare it to Rio? The cost off food/drinks partying etc. Accomadation? The quality off the garotas and cost? The service from the garotas. Do you get hasseled by street kids and beggers there as much as Rio? I am spending 6 months in Brazil next year. In 2 trips. Will be spending a month in a few costal cities, fortaleza is one off them on my list. Also it is suppose to rain alot from January to June there, are there still alot off sunny beach days?

Time for me to venture out off Rio. And start seeing alot off brazil.

If you want GPs you have Zipi and all the bars in the "GP-crossing" (Europa, Café d M, Heineken Café, Forró & Mambo etc).

I think Zipi is good for a early catch. Europa, Café d M and F & M are just about OK. It's a shame that they are quite expensive (specially F & M).

I like to have a couple of cheap 600 ml beers in the "Reggae Bar" next to Europa. Cool place with good burgers. The perfect observation post, from here you'll see all the girls that arrives in the crossing. From this location you will be able to have the first pick of the gems.

I also like Heineken Café. Very relaxed, lots of girls (even though not the top notch girls), no entrance fee or minimum consumption.

Armazem on Wednesdays can be fun, GP-night. Mostly the same girls that you'll meet the rest of the week in the GP-crossing, but also some nice once-a-month-GPs that have bills to pay.

If you want to meet regular girls, Fortaleza has a great nightlife with lots of Forró clubs. Many of them reported here in this thread. Some of them are far away and it can be a hassle to know which days they are working.

Mucuripe on a Friday night is a absolutely must! Huge place with 4 pistas and lots of very beautiful women. There are some GPs there, ignore them. It's not hard to pick up a regular girl at Mucuripe. Remember to be quick or the local guys will have picked all the beautiful girls, and only left the chubbies with football-heads glued to their necks.

To answer your question of comparing Rio to Fortaleza, I would say that Fortaleza, things are about as much as 50% cheaper than Rio. For example, take Prive Belissima, which is a casa with girls the quality of what you would find in a 1st tier terma in Rio at 1/3 of the prices. In Rio you would pay easily 300 reais for 1 hour with a garota, in P. Belissima in Fortaleza, it's 90 reais for 1 hour in house or 130 Reais 2 hours take out. Hotels are also cheaper, same for aparts. I found the scene of course a lot smaller than in Rio but there is good selection. One aspect of Fortaleza that I enjoy very much is the tremendous possibility of non pro action, specially if one speaks the language.

All in all, Fortaleza is a terrific place to spend an extended period of time and I am toying with that idea as well (that is spend a few months in a few cities like Belo Horizonte, Goiania, Fortaleza and maybe as well in Belem or in Joao Pessoa. These cities are gold mines for non pros, but portuguese is a must there to tap into these bundas.

I am thinking about 5 weeks in natal, 5 weeks in fortaleza, 5 weeks in joao pessoa. A total of 15 weeks in that north east part off brazil in the new year. Need a change from Rio. Will still spend 5 weeks in Rio on the same trip.

one question.. it seems that most off the apartments for fortaleza that i have looked at require you to sign guests in at your apartment, which i find to be a pain, especially at 3am in the morning drunk and you have 2 women with you and you have to waste 20 minutes signing them in.. does anyone know some top 1 or 2 bedroom apartments that don't require you to sign your guests in??

In Fortaleza just about all apartment buildings are very strict about signing in guests. Exceptions are buildings without porteiros (those are very few and can be unsafe).

Signing in the girls are routine for the porteiros and goes very quickly. No problem at all. This strict registering girls are just to avoid gringos having sex with minors.

Make sure you pass from Dragao do Mar before going to Mucuripe disco.

9pm to midnight is fine with plenty of eye candy. Many places for dinner there too. These are the two hotest places for Friday evening for niewbies in Fortalesa.

I am not proud to say that I was one of those that were to proud to spend money. That was until I met a monger that explained that the money I spent partying my life away was often times more than the money I spent had I just ponied up some cash and hooked up with some high class providers. Trust me you spend far more chasing pussy than paying to fuck it. I would say YES. Also, do not forget about bar Zippi. There is no entracne fee, and you can "scout" you choice of girl there before you head to forro Mambos.
