Three men charged with trafficking in women
Three Maltese men were yesterday charged with encouraging young women from Eastern European countries to come to Malta to prostitute themselves.

Samuel Ritchie, 48, of Kappara, Carol Mangion, 40, of Gzira and Jason Caruana, 27, of Qormi pleaded not guilty to trafficking in the women for prostitution purposes, conspiring to commit a crime and living off the earnings of prostitution on and before Thursday. They were also charged with running a brothel and allowing an Msida apartment to be used as one.

Mr Ritchie and Mr Mangion alone were charged with relapsing.

The men were remanded in custody.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano presided over the arraignment.

Police Inspectors Raymond Aquilina and Louise Calleja prosecuted.

Lawyers Ian Farrugia, José Herrera and Stephen Tonna Lowell were defence counsel.

Same as the locations, some guys are cleverly cryptic others blatantly say its a MP in such and such a street? Aren't we endangering our pastime this way? What are we waiting for? An undercover boy in blue to visit and ask for service and then promptly get the place shut down?

I would suggest all locations phone numbers etc are ONLY traded in private messages and even then we are still not sure that we haven't been infiltrated by the "guardians of the law".

So enough complaining that we are lacking in opportunity and diversity and try to take care of the few operational assets we do have and not get them shut down.
