Unlike Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, even in Vietnam they embrace heavy foreign investors to bring jobs and up start their economies.
But the Philippine government to maintain sovereignty hold on to the ridiculous notion of taking 60 to 70% of any foreign investors money.

Of course, this is the soft way filipino's deal with each other. I would have told her no damn way am I lending you money and you are a complete idiot to be sending money to a scammer.
The girl is working hard to save money and has borrowed money from various friends to get the 20 k. She still is trying to borrow more.
I find it absolutely incredible people can be so stupid. I never send money to anyone I have not met, especially pinays. But for these poor people to be sending money to Nigerian scammers elevates the pinays to a new level of stupid.

Also, people who are the victim of criminal activity cannot be blamed for the activity (blame can only lie with the perpetrator), regardless the level of naiveté on the part of the victim. Here's an odd sort of analogy: I put on some bling, get really drunk, leave my cash showing out of the top of my shirt pocket. I go for a stroll through the barrio at 1 am, and I get mugged. Am I stupid? No, I have several college degrees. Did I show bad judgement? Yes of course. Was I to blame for the mugging? Of course not, only the mugger can be blamed. Did I deserve that? One example does not make a conclusion on a whole group. Especially a second hand story. I personally think someone who would draw such a conclusion would be stupid.

Sexy half phil half norwegan spinner, 175 cm, big boobies, ass as a rock and partly a model for a magazine I won't mention (not only national). Westies right about, when your in love, it makes you blind in some way. I was lucky bcs I bought my GF a BMW X3 as a gift on our 3'd date. Showing off, yes maybe, and my friends called me crazy. Now 8 years later, with a 3 yo daughter (25% asian), do people still call me stupid? No they don't! They are just jealous of my sexy spinner GF compared to their not so, anymore, sexy spinners. When my GF gave birth to our daughter she was running our inhouse threadmill 4 days after giving birth. She did her usual 800 situps a day (800 more than me).
The point is that love blinds you but sometimes good things can from it. When good things comes from it it is mostly out from relatively same aged couples, same social standards (I know this hurts but its true) and same level of edu. Not bastantic but there is a point inside here. Would my 12 yo younger GF fall for me without the X3? I just felt like giving her one. I ask her but ofcourse she's not viewing it generalistic. She knows I did what I did to catch her attention, maybe she would catch it anyway, who knows. She don't know and I don't know. Today she tells me, even if I have hit the 40 ies, I still look like in 30 ies. She is nice and by today she provides hughly into the family economy. So maybe wallets follow hearts sometimes but as my GF comes from same standard as me with quite some money I think its better to say that; children from same standards plays the best.

The frustration in doing business is not, however, limited to foreigners and applies equally to Filipinos, since the government's bottomless greed is blind to nationality. I know several highly successful Filipino business owners, and when we talk about the endless frustration of dealing with incompetent, thoroughly corrupt bureaucracies, they've got the same problems I do. This could be why, according to one poll I read, Duterte is the solid choice of A and be classes in Luzon. Of course, from the standpoint of morally bankrupt political leaders, the system works quite well.

Obviously the guy I saw here the other day sitting at the back of the jeepney lost his as a guy at the curb observed this. While the jeepney stood waiting for green light the observing guy waited until it was the jeepneys turn to move. Then he ran in, snapped the unlucky guys phone right from his hand while texting and ran off to the other side of the street. This was a classic theft I guess.
On the other hand I have a line of girls in both facebook and viber. I never stop wondering if pinays are just clumpsy or simply extremely unlucky. In 2 weeks a singel girl have lost 3 phones, others two and most 1 (not all of my contacts ofcourse but actually quite a few). This is not talking pinays down but there must be something they do wrong as I know people in other parts of the world having the same phone until they choose to throw it away and change it into a new one. It seems never to happen in phils.
From a monger perspective this again creates big hazzles as the girls ability to loose phones means they will have a new number. As usual this creates they send me a "hey, its me" msg. With no additional infomation a new number plinging my phone with the additional msg makes me now just get irritated. I have started to answer harsh: "I don't know this number, who the f. Are you? Sometimes I do add in a "hehe" at the end to mild things up a tad). What I do hope is that the girls eventually will learn to at least introduce themself when they text me.
The phonecompanies and the stores selling them must have nice times operating in phils.

Some sell the phone as see the gift purely as a commercial product.
If you offered some pinays a Lenovo or HTC for example they would turn their noses up as some think is not a great 'brand', some don't know, some only know IPhone and some realize that the money they can get from 'losing' it would be less if not a 'branded' mobile.
So lots of different reasons.
This has happened to me ad some are genuine as jeepney thefts are rife as are 'snatchers' but when It happens too often and too regularly I just say get a small cheap Nokia (800 pesos) so we can still communicate. Then you can see the real pinay. Some just refuse the idea saying they need IPhone, Samsung etc while some get on and do it. For the former I ask why and say " is the same as we need to communicate yes? So why you need a fancy one to chat to me?
This is what frustrates me at times but also amuses at the same time, tis is the Philippines and these are cute pinays also DS (as you know as you see many unlike most of us LOL).

Another obvious reason i am in a mongerforum is i like to share and most importantly i learn many things sticking to this forum and others. Life is in constant motion so i do pick up something from designated BM's like Huts, Westie, Good Enough(mostly them have something useful to share)which i find interesting. From that i can get new angel on things and even if we might not hunt from the same pale of girls at times i would say surprisingly a lot of their info have been useful to me. To speak about phils section of this forum i am more active here and even if it seems that way to BM's reading my posts i do have a Makati based daughter here as well and she is as valuable as my daughter back in Norway. The problem so far, beeing the big cheater i am, is that the Makati one has to be a "hidden" daughter. But one day i will come clear as i would prevent by all my recources a girl with my blood beeing educated in the rather floppy phil system. When she gets like 6yo its time to move her to my country. Atleast BM knows why i go that much to visit phils. Bcs i hate the country and the girls here are nothing special from girls all over. But due to the hidden daughter it is convenient to me to go here so i can nurse her and see her..

My jeep rides are from 5 to 20 minutes and I never pull my mobile out of my pocket. What can be so vital that it can't wait bit? I've had a few mobiles stolen here but not while in transit, and though I was a crime victim, I created the situation allowing the exploit; I hold myself culpable. If one chooses to disregard situational awareness one will pay for it. Jeeps offer a criminal open access, much more than a bus or train. In the west we're advised to take care when seated beside a bus / train exit as a criminal can snatch and dash easily.

I presume some backup their contact list, but I've only met a few who do so; or they write down numbers, and I've rarely met someone who does that; or perhaps they sync their contacts to their email accounts, but when that happens it's often accidental. Maybe they have exceptional memories? But if they're doing one or more of these smart things, why then send a "Hey, it's me message" knowing the recipient will have no idea who the number belongs to? That's just dumb. It's like they're golden retrievers, capable of both brilliance and imbecility.
I have been able to get up to 25 k php at each withdrawal from HSBC ATMs in Manila (I tried many: Rockwell, Ortigas, Makati etc). I may have gotten more, but I didn't want to try because I have tried on first time using my foreign ATM debit card in HSBC in Manila, I tried to withdraw 40 k php, and my bank blocked my card and called me wondering what is going on (I have informed the bank I am traveling, but they told me to not bother, if they have a problem they will call me, and so they blocked my card on first use and called me internationally making it cost me more, anyway, banks be banks).
The second best place is Citibank (I tried in Aura Premier etc), and I can get there up to 15 k php. I tried for more but it tells me (15 k is the limit).
When I had emergency need for cash and no HSBC or Citibank were near, I used Banco de Oro. It seems their ATMs have a limit for filipino cards of 15 K php but for me it did not allow me more than 10 K.
The hoops exist because ATM withdrawals almost always give better exchange rates than cash changing of foreign currency, no matter the favorable rate. Yet, Philippines has some tax / fee of 200 php for using a foreign Debit card on their local ATMs, so to make this a good deal, got to take the most possible so it's worthwhile.
