There are redevelopment schemes in various degrees of pendency for a couple of them. One invloves the area to the east and west of the Mosque running south to the river. It is not finally approved yet, but may kick in next year. The main commercial and "entertainment" areas are unaffected.

Korean girls will always bring condoms but you should have some of your own favorite brands just in case. As a courtesy, just hand it over to her before opening it.
