It seemed that mostly the cost around the city was 8000. Paid 10k a couple of times and I think 12k once.

Yep. You either negotiate beforehand or just pay what they tell you. In the first day I had a taxi driver charge me double price in the afternoon for the same route I'd taken in the morning. I asked the hotel about it and they said to negotiate a price beforehand. It sounds like you found the honest taxi drivers!

Just got to Quilla and this time I will try out the Four Points that was recommended by Chicago85. Came out of baggage claim and a guy stopped me to ask where I was going. I told him and he said 30 K. He took my bag then walked upstairs to the departure level. The first taxi he saw, he threw my bag into the front seat and told the driver where I was going. The driver gave me 4000 pesos. I then told thr driver that I usually come upstairs to get a taxi but know I know that I can just pay 26 K from now on since you just gave that guy 4 K. I didn't need to pay them, but they have me a receipt. The price to the Hilton Garden Inn was 30 K. I also had guys trying to intercept me and get me in other taxis but I didn't go for it. I want to check out a couple places here. But my stomach isn't doing my so well from something I ate in Cali. I looked at Uber and there seems to be plenty of Uber drivers here. But Uber is wanting about 38 K to go to the airport. Sometimes taxis are cheaper.

I got here a few nights ago. The taxi seems set at 30,000 pesos if you use the so called authorized taxi. I am staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. In Cali the first thing the guy said is I have to wait until 3 PM. Then I just kept standing there and a few minutes later he said my room is ready. LOL If I have to wait I'll eat lunch and go to a mall or the Zero Stress Spa place. If I need a early check-in I ask Airbnb places if I can check-in early before booking them. They almost always say yes so that you will stay at their place.
