The Delta deal ends on 7/18 and you have to travel between certain dates. They don't fly to Pop anymore.
I would not change money at the airport. If you're renting a car, you don't need it and if taking a taxi, they'll accept US$ The exchange rate at the airport was horrible, less than 30 and the cambios in Sosua were giving 32.5 just a week ago.

Do not exchange money at airport. Taxis will take US$. Rate at airport a couple weeks back was less than 30p I was getting 32.5 from the cambios in Sosua. Lastly, you'd be crazy not to bring as many condoms and as much lube as you'll need. I always bring extras and regalo them to my favorites when I leave.

Delta flies direct daily from Atlanta to Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, and Puerta Plata. Eff. 7/1/2007. Haven't heard nor read any plans to discontinue either of these routes. Same with the JFK-Santo Domingo flights. Maybe just a downgrade of aircraft to a 737 during low season, but POP is still being served daily. In fact, that flight is usually full.
I have heard that the Fort Lauderdale - Santo Domingo flight is indeed in jeopardy.

Ahmed ran his tour business out of his Washington Heights apartment, said Edison Alban of the Manhattan district attorney's office. He also had is own Web site, in addition to advertising on Craigslist.
Tour contracts included the number of days, the airfare and accommodations, and specified the number of sex partners the client received, prosecutors said. The prostitutes' fees were buried in the tour package's upfront cash cost.
A handwritten statement Ahmed gave to police said he also provided a chauffeur, tour guide and translator for clients visiting the Spanish-speaking Caribbean island for a cost of about $2,500.
Ahmed ran the tours for about eight months and that they included "female companionship, which included sexual favors," prosecutors said.
The scheme was uncovered when a human rights activist from Equality Now saw his ads in the erotic services section of Craigslist.

It's a no-win situation,
if you set up shop in the US, your violating local laws and if you set up in the DR, they'll bust you for pimping, just like the dozens of massage parlors that were raided in 2004.

I brought down 5 gross (5 X144 = 720) mail-order rubbers once for a guy who lives there, and when the customs guy found them I told him there was no tax on condoms in the DR anyway, and he bought it. Spanish helps a lot in such instances.

Gents, I'm hoping you can help me with my upcoming monger-trip planning! I've gotta go to Panama City, Panama for work for 2 weeks and will be taking a week of vacation time afterwards before returning to S. Florida. Now, I figure that over the 2 weeks I'm there, I'll more than adequately sample whatever Panama City has to offer. That leaves me with 4 days to hobby somewhere before I need to be home. DR is on my short list of places along with Cartagena/Barranquilla and Aruba or Curacao. I'm really leaning toward DR as I've been wanting to return since my first trip a year ago and due to the apparent renewed security concerns on the coast in Colombia. I don't speak much Spanish, but I am doing the Rosetta Stone thing now. I want my $ to stretch as much as possible. I love the nice, round Dominican asses, don't mind dark or light skin, love big tits (but don't expect too much in DR). I also value good looks as well as performance. I'the prefer (obviously) not to have to pay 4 "it", if there is an area where the non-pros really don't require much effort, however, I don't mind doing what WE do best and paying for it. I've found alot of great info on Blackbeard's and it seems to enjoy about a 75-80% approval rating, which is good, but, I'm curious about other Adult Resorts in DR that you guys might recommend. I've heard of Platinum Castle, Viking's Resort, and the Exotic Retreat. Most of which are in Puerto Plata, which puts that town on my DR short list. However, I've also heard good things about hobbying in Sosua and Santiago. What's the short and skinny on these locales? Any other recommendations? Here's more criteria to help guide responses.
