Oh no, the "Colours of the East" festival will this year be 2-5 August, when I'm in Pattaya. All of Beach Road will be full with stands well into the night. No FL action.
Hi,
I have palns to go Pattaya on Sat. 26 May 12, from KL, M'sia. Unfortunately, my friend had to defer his trip, so I am thinking hard to go solo. Is it possible for me to tag along with you or yr team?
Anyway. Attention senior bros, Is it OK to go solo in Pattaya?
Appreciate senior bro's feedback.
Rgds.
Richard
I've been 11 times. Except for once with my brother and once with a friend, I have always gone solo. Not only is it OK, it's a great way to roll. No worrying about when you barfine, what obligations you have to another person etc. You are free to do as you please when you please. There are plenty of other guys there who are also solo so if you are looking for company it's easy enough to find it.
I am 77 years old. I visit Pattaya twice a year. Alone, but not for long. Never have any problem.
Attention senior bros, Is it OK to go solo in Pattaya?
Going solo in Pattaya is a terrible waste! I always make sure I have a girl on my hands (and other body parts) as soon as possible.

Richard
Way to go mate. Why would you want to be in the company of another man, the opposition. No men allowed, LOL. More fun, just you and the girls.

Richard
You deserve an award for being in the game at this age, hope I am in it when I reach your age. Lots of solo travelers in Pats, stay alert and you should be ok, enjoy it.
Anyway. Attention senior bros, Is it OK to go solo in Pattaya?
Pattaya or Bangkok are cities where it's perfectly fine to go Solo.
Even if you go to some bars, there are always guys there you can buy drinks to and talk. I personally am not a fan of Bars, but I usually prefer going Solo.
As for me I go 40/60 wingman / solo. Important for me is that the wingman and me have the same ideology. For me and him it is no problem because we have lived together for many years when studying and now live close to eachother in same city so we totaly agree in the scheduel when going to in my case almost all the time to Bangkok (we don't have an scheduel and that is what we like, hehe). We have a diff taste in women and that comes in handy (no fighting over the same girl) too. Sometimes we even just split up in the evening. And sometimes we do 3somes with DP (if we should like the same girl and she is willing. We mostly pick up girls like that from Beergarden during daytime)
But Solo is no problem and ofcourse the most "free" setting. I guess for all ages.
I prefer to fly solo when I'm on the prowl. There is nothing more tedious than the endless disputes among punters regarding itinerary. If I'm not enjoying this bar or that go-go I want to move along soonest, and I'm not interested in debating the issue with my mates. (Especially that one guy who's fallen in "lub" with the girl on his lap and who insists I stay and entertain her fat friend.)
Moreover I'm in my mid-50s now, and the hard-drinking, hair-on-fire, party-till-dawn thing just isn't my style anymore. Sincerely no offense to other gents who prefer to go big or go home. But it's just not for me these days. I've also noticed that when punters go beyond having a wing man and form into groups there is sometimes a bit of a mob mentality, and that causes them to do things that are in my estimation rather loutish. Again, I'm not calling anybody out. After all, the entire idea of a holiday in Pattaya is to do things that one cannot do at home. But my personal idea of a good time is rather more restrained, and standing off to the side while my buds act like ugly farangs is not my cup of tea.
During the day, however, when I'm chilling here or there and killing time before the sun goes down and the fun starts anew, I very much enjoy meeting the other chaps in town. Not so much the lager louts (although those guys are usually harmless) but the guys who have lives very different from mine. I never get tired of sharing a drink or a meal with them, talking about a million different things. After all, a man can only spend so much time thinking with his little head. Once in awhile he needs to exercise the big head.
Bunky
I would say it all depends. More than likely if you had a random wingman then it would probably suck. But if you already know the wingman and you are regular hangout buddies and share the same likes as far as venues are concerned then it could be a good thing. It gives you someone to share your memories with who will understand exactly what you are talking about. If you have more than one wingman it will be like herding cats and you will waste a lot of valuable time. On the other hand if you are alone then you do what the fuck you want to do when the fuck you want to do it and don't have to take anyone else into consideration. Freedom.

Someone that is equal to you, and as equal as you.

Here is the complete Tarantino monologe from Sleep with Me:
Tarantino: "What is Top Gun? You think it's a story about a bunch of fighter pilots. It is a story about a man's struggle with his own homosexuality. It is! That is what Top Gun is about, man. You've got Maverick, all right? He's on the edge, man. He's right on the fucking line, all right? And you've got Iceman, and all his crew. They're gay, they represent the gay man, all right? And they're saying, go, go the gay way, go the gay way. He could go both ways.
Kelly McGillis, she's heterosexuality. She's saying: No, no, no, no, no, no, go the normal way, play by the rules, go the normal way. They're saying no, go the gay way, be the gay way, go for the gay way, all right? That is what's going on throughout that whole movie... He goes to her house, all right? It looks like they're going to have sex, you know, they're just kind of sitting back, he's takin' a shower and everything. They don't have sex. He gets on the motorcycle, drives away. She's like, "What the fuck, what the fuck is going on here?"
Next scene, next scene you see her, she's in the elevator, she is dressed like a guy. She's got the cap on, she's got the aviator glasses, she's wearing the same jacket that the Iceman wears. She is, okay, this is how I gotta get this guy, this guy's going towards the gay way, I gotta bring him back, I gotta bring him back from the gay way, so I'll do that through subterfuge, I'm gonna dress like a man. All right? That is how she approaches it.
All right, but the REAL ending of the movie is when they fight the MIGs at the end, all right? Because he has passed over into the gay way. They are this gay fighting fucking force, all right? And they're beating the Russians, the gays are beating the Russians. And it's over, and they fucking land, and Iceman's been trying to get Maverick the entire time, and finally, he's got him, all right? And what is the last fucking line that they have together? They're all hugging and kissing and happy with each other, and Ice comes up to Maverick, and he says, "Man, you can ride my tail, anytime!" And what does Maverick say? "You can ride mine!" Swordfight! Swordfight! Fuckin' A, man!"
Funny Stuff !
I have gone on mongering trips with friends and solo. Both ways have their virtues, but I prefer going solo. The girls are all the company I really need or want. No discusion over where to go or when to go. You do what you want when you want to do it. Now if I were going on a scuba dive trip or a trek in the Himalayas, that is another story and a couple of good friends along for the adventure are essential.
