Also most owners stay near the property and they can check what you are upto. They verify your relationship status and if you are not a genuine couple they don't allow you to stay in rooms. Also they can check what you are upto using cctv. I know oyos are bad but I have always used hotels which are safe.

I respect your view, but with my experience I can say Airbnb has worked great where as some of the so called 5 star hotels in many cities were not so secure. As I have found unauthorized sophisticated devices which I have found and took with me which has costed in 1000's of INR.

So for me I prefer Airbnb as against Hotels.

Now coming to your points, even in hotels they do have CCTV and they will be monitoring. Not all owners are staying near the property as for as I have used more than 20+ properties. If the owners are not near the properties how they can verify the relationship. In all no one has asked for any verification. Well, even in the hotels they can, but most hotels turn their way or simply pretend like blind.

I am visiting the city this weekend and looking to monger. I did glance through the past 10 pages of the forum and from my research it seems like FS at MPs here are rare. I am also looking around in MR and while the selection is much better here than my native, the good options seem quite pricey (expected).

I don't know about your case, but even if owners don't stay near property, they always have their caretakers to look after the property. Just like that even terrorists will come and stay in Airbnb right? Nobody rents their property to unknown guys or girls. Something bad or crime happens in their property and they will be in trouble. I have known cases where couple entered Airbnb and later boy killed the girl and left. Airbnb owners do check the ID and relationship status. Those who don't check are not real owners simple. Every genuine owner will check. Most mongers in ISG use hotels instead of Airbnb as it's waste of money. But anyways every person has different views.
