And a good time was had by all...
WR,
It was good having you in Davao, even for a couple of days and I'm glad you enjoyed the place. Next time stay longer, and we'll work in Claude's Cafe de Ville into the routine. Of course by then Annie (Spirale) will have also opened a new place on Torres St. and doubtless others will have opened as well, so we'll see if we can introduce you to one restaurant per night.

Davao: Hotels, Women, more "Hauntings", etc.
Guys,
On staying at Marco Polo and receiving a Discount, try this strategy. Dress nicely (white, long sleeved 100% cotton Oxford dress shirt, silk tie, dark pants; better yet business suit). Go into the ground floor Business Center and ask to speak with the "Guest/Customer Relations manager". Introduce yourself, big smile, produce and elegant business card for Your "Company" (can have these, premium cards made for $ 50 in USA; probably less).
Explain that you will be in Davao City at least occasionally (frequently, perhaps). Ask if you could receive a "Preferential Room Rate". I was in the Business Center a couple years ago using a computer when two women walked in and did exactly what I just mentioned. They were immediately told that they could have the "standard discount" of 20%. This is where negotiations were just commencing. A Corporate Rate of 30% should not be difficult and perhaps more if you can convince them you will be a frequent visitor.
These Discounts will help. Don't want to bother dressing up for the "30 minute show"; don't want to spend a little money on business cards; okay. Try one of the cheap hotels in town and still use the above approach. Always be polite and ALWAYS SMILE.
I had some bad experiences at Casa Leticia ever since the Owners stopped managing it. It is now primarily a Filipino Hotel, evidenced by the Restaurant serving only filipino foods. I do not suggest anyong stay here.
The one time that I tried the Apo View Hotel last year the experience was not good. Service was terrible. The maid was banging on my door at 08:00AM on a Sunday morning wanting to clean it and I got a call a few minutes later from Maintenance wanting to repair something. The fact that I was out until 02:30AM Saturday night seemed irrelevant.
One of the bellboys tried hustling me. Thinking I was a Davao Rookie, he tried to inform me that he could get me "anything I wanted" (for a price). Shame he couldn't do the same for himself and get a little "social grace" and a "real job". At checkout, another bellboy walked up to the Lady I was with, also thinking I was a "Davao Rookie". In vasayan, he began inquiring if she was a "lady for hire" (in which case he would extort a commission from her).
Not realizing whom he was "fucking with here", I walked over and told him "politely" and "delicately": "stay the fuck away from my lady friend or I will crush your stupid head like an eggshell, you stupid, ugly looking piece of shit"! I said this in a "soft tone" that only Hotel Employees and Guests within a 1,000 meter radius would hear. I then returned to the Front Desk and demanded to speak with the Hotel General Manager (at the time it was Wolfgang; since terminated). Told he was unavailabe (of course!), the Manager was brought out. I pointed out the "little maggot" belllboy and told him what he had just been doing. Said I was going to the Police Department to formally file a complaint. I noticed the beellboy had a retarded grin on his face. Pointed at him and said, "asshole you will not be laughing after I go to the Police".
I did later hear from Wolfgang and he apologized. Also told me he was aware of this "situation" in the Apo View Hotel and trying to correct it (to correct it you DO need to be there during the workday; NOT drinking at an outdoor table at Henny's).
I have had "hauntings" by more "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past". A few weeks ago it was Annie, my Lady back in 2004. She left to take a job in Singapore, informing me the day before she left. Never saw her again. Supposedly she was going to marry some old fuck she met online who is living in Florida. Have no idea if she did. I DO NOT waste time with "relics". I merely replied that I was doing great when she asked and nothing more.
Just last morning Jobeth came online. I was reviewing data for the Annual Meeting of a major Client of mine being held at Noon. She opened her cam and I noticed she looked sort of "worn out" for a 21 y/o. Asked why she was online at 01:30AM and she said she was doing a school project. She gave me a new cellphone number for her, fifth one in the year 2009.
I mentioned this to her and she told me she was having trouble with some strange men calling/texting her. I told her she was meeting too many Losers and Fucking Weirdos. She said no, just "busy" with her school work. Ya right!. Then why the constant new cellphone numbers. My two Sons' Mothers have each had the same CP# for years.
As I posted here recently. Both her and Rotchell are "easy fucks". Hot looking and sexy, but also not too bright when it comes to making choices or doing things in a way that will help then, rather than harm them. I don't think she has many men she meets online visiting Davao City but I am certain Jobeth is meeting and fucking far more than her "fair share" of filipinos at School. These guys are generally total and complete LOWLIFES. After school or in between classes they get a "qucik fuck" and/or "blowjob" from her in some vacant room or a nearby residence.
Filipinos are many things. THEY ARE NOT DISCREET! They exchange cellphone numbers among friends, cousins and classmates. This results in her (and many other filipinas) receiving constant Obscene Text Messages and Harassing Phone Calls from pathetic filipinos wanting a "Quick Fuck or Blowjob". Their limited view of life is that if a woman fucks one guy, she will fuck anyone. So there is a "need" to constantly get a new CP#.
What she wanted from me is when I was returning to the Philippines so she could see me. She knows NOT to ask me for money online. To any of these Filipina Hustlers my reply is always a NO!

The Changing Scene in Davao
This was a particularly nice week end in that my lady and I got to hang out together, with no distractions, for two solid days. No review classes for her, no work for me, no parties, no one to entertain for the first time in a long time.
Friday, we went to Henny's, which is nothing new except that we hadn't been there for a while. I had the Steak Tartar, which was excellent as always, and she had some sort of Gambas. Both of us had the mustard soup which was excellent as well. What was new is that as we were leaving, about ten o'clock, the outside terrace was packed, as was the adjacent terrace at the new Mexican restaurant, Dos Amigos as well as the terrace at Someplace Else. All of the tables, and in total there must be at least 20 - 25 among the three places, were full of young people puffing away on water pipes and drinking beer. This is a situation that's absolutely ripe for anyone with a little game and a willingness to take a little time. What's even newer is Henny's plan, together with the guys who own the Mexican place, to extend the terrace by about 10 sq. meters out into what is now the parking lot, and to extend the roof to cover the extension as well. The place will be stocked with additional tables and water pipes. From what I've been told, the food at the Mexican place sucks, so forget this restaurant as a new dining spot. However, the entire terrace area, from Someplace Else to De Bonte Koe and the Mexican place will soon be an extended hunting ground for young, upwardly mobile Filipinas. These are not hookers, but they are young women out for a good time, and it will take an investment in some beers, some conversation and patience, but this could be a great alternative to Bar 183 just up the street.
Tonight, we ate for the fourth or fifth time at Farfalla, owned by Claude's daughter, in the Victoria Mall area. The meal was superb. We had an excellent bottle of Italian Red Zinfandel (Php2,500). I had oysters from New Zealand (fin claire #1) smothered in a cranberry reduction, followed by steak with a cream tarragon sauce, sauteed potatoes and asparagus. She had a clam with pasta entree followed by Gambas in some sort of tomato sauce and we shared a spinach tort. The service was perfect and the food superb. She had a desert of panna cotta in a raspberry coulis (syrup) and topped with fresh strawberries whereas I finished up with only a double espresso. Granted, the bill was Php5,000, but it was worth every peso. We came into the restaurant before 8 and left after 11, so it was a true dining experience.
The opportunities--for fine dining and for chasing women--are expanding it seems with every passing month.
