A lovely news item about Mick Jagger in the regional press concerning last week's Rolling Stones concert in Bucharest.
Following the concert, in the early morning hours, the doors of a large and well known club in Bucharest flew open. Standing in the doorway none other than Mick Jagger followed by body guards. Up to 38 degrees Celsius in South-Eastern Romania during end of June and begin of July. Bucharest drives you tired, sick and mad. Noisy and dirty. Nevertheless things are going to improve from year to year. There are mixtures among people and influences from the Russian Tsarist, Austrian-Hungarian Habsburgic and Turkish Ottoman Empires. The Byzantine and Ottoman heritage may have shaped the Romanian way of thinking. It explains the ubiquitous corruption and the mendacious and blatant behaviour of the people of this country.
