It is not the same. Much easier to get a blow job in a rental car, it is possible on a caribe tours bus or metro bus, but the seats recline more in a car, making things more comfortable.

I've been tempted in Caribe tours as I actually had the chica fall asleep with her head in my lap but the bus was just too crowded.

Follow-Up
Now I know some of you will judge me. First, I made a big mistake by not asking her age. Yes, I should have but if I showed you a picture you might not think to ask, but I learned a lesson always ask a chicas age. Also, I am really not into you girls it just happened cannot change it now, but I did try after the fact to make it right and talk to her mother and farther as I am not into taking advantage of young poor girls. I hate to admit it but I like this girl. By the way her ex is a minor league player with the St Louis Cardinals.
I agree with the fact that the DR (especially Sosua / Puerto Plata) is getting more dangerous than in previous years. I have been coming to the DR for 12 years now and have been living here since retiring 3 years ago. I have always been a person very aware of my surroundings and what is going on. I have always felt relatively safe here in the DR. I am not a paranoid kind of person, but in the last year I have observed more and more corrupt police actions. I am currently making plans to permanently leave the Dominican Republic and live in another part of the world. I used to love the DR and still do in some ways but the level of in-your-face corruption has reached a degree that for me is no longer tolerable. I have actually started to feel unsafe here after all these years. Additionally, the cost of living in the DR (rent, food, transportation, cable, internet, massage, etc, etc.) are so much higher than other wonderful parts of the planet that it no longer makes sense for me to stay here. I realize that coming to the DR for a vacation is convenient and fairly easy for many guys, hence its popularity. I still have a lot of fun here, but I have more fun in a much more relaxed atmosphere other places on the planet. I have been traveling the planet for 45 years now and am no novice when it comes to knowledge of the world. More specifically, it is just my personal opinion that Puerto Plata and Sosua are dying communities in terms of tourism anyway. There are many fewer people coming to these towns than in the past which is definitily affecting the economy of the area. Many Dominicans that had jobs previously are now jobless. There is more desperation for many Dominicans now than in past times. The unwarranted and random arrest and jailing of many girls in Sosua by the Politur (Tourist Police. An oxymoron) has resulted in many girls that would normally come here to entertain us guys are now staying away out of fear of the Politur and jail. This has resulted in a noticeable decline in the overall numbers and quality of girls available in Sosua. Yes, there is for sure still fun to be had and there are still girls in Sosua, but it is NOT what it used to be. There are numerous behind-the-scenes reasons for this which I won't go into here. Suffice it to say. The DR is one of the most corrupt countries on the planet, more dangerous than in times past, rampant inflation, and for me much less desireable than it used to be. It's still a beautiful country with a lot to offer, but presently there are better places. Things are constantly changing everywhere and perhaps one day the DR will once again be more desireable than it is now.
Thanks for posting. I think your post got buried in the ongoing debate of "to rent a car or not to rent a car". I think alot of people didn't give you creditability because it was your first post, but I think you know more than most about current affairs in Sosua. Some things you didn't want to go in dept about and I respect that. Again thanks for your insight.

Admitting it was the dumb thing to do. You only opened yourself up to who knows what. Getting ghost and laying low would have been the smart thing. You got to know when to walk away and know when to run.

Rising Poverty in DR
On my last visit back in June, you can definitely see and feel the effect of the Global economic downturn. I noticed some restaurants barely had one present customer. Day or night. The bars during the day were basically empty. The insistent "begging" of the peddlers was very annoying. Plus, in general, the attitudes of the chicos were more hardened than my previous trips. A few times I would even notice scowls on some of the faces. I never felt unsafe. However, the total sum of the environment is less than inviting.
I assume the uptick in scams is due to the rising poverty and unemployment. Desperate times call for desperate measures and the basic survival instinct is to do what is necessary to eat. I am not condoning this behavior in the least bit. I'm just trying to wrap some understanding around things.
I think this also has had an effect on the chicas. They now have more mouths to feed. Including the police! Time is money and they simply can't afford to be laid up all day and night for $50. I know some people like to blame the supposed new clientele and hypothesize that this new breed doesn't seek out or value a GFE experience, but I think the chicas are becoming hip to the game. If they can get in / out within a hour and leave $40 richer, I guess they figure they can easily do this 3 times a day and make out better than that $100 GFE. Even if it is that much and probably put in much less work overall.
I am far from a DR expert. A few guys like to paint gloomy and depressing pictures, but I'm not one of them. Although things have changed, in some ways, I noticed improvement. The women I saw out at night looked better than my previous trip. It seems like a bunch of women are now coming from Santo Domingo and Santiago. Two separate women I scooped up, bounced out of town as soon as we were finished and I didn't see a glimpse of them the rest of the weekend.
So, it may be true that the GFE is dying. However, it is not completely done. I had a few opportunities to wife up a nice chica, but I had my boys to entertain. I would like to say that I will chill out this time and seek out a GFE, but who knows? As my trip approaches, I am fired up no matter what rhetoric is tossed around.
I am really concerned about the future and the situation becoming worse. As soon as the thug mentality hits and mongers start getting robbed on a regular, Sosua and other parts of the DR will really see a decline in $$$. It would be best if the police focused on crime and corruption. Leave the fucking putas alone!

What other places would you recommend instead of the DR? Philippines? Thailand? I am curious, so please do tell.

My advise to anyone would be NOT to judge a girl's age by their looks and do NOT ask a girl their age because most of them will lie, ask for a cedula and if they can't produce one kick them to the curb, period.
HornyB Hello. That was good advice Bob gave. I think he lives there. He doesn't post much, but I think he is one of the most reliable posters here. If a puta makes an accusation, even without proof, its up to the gringo to prove his innocence. Who can sit in a Dominican jail naked, sharing a cell with100 dominicans with a bucket in the middle to shit in, waiting for a trial. The scammers know you will tap out (pay thousands) , and be glad just to leave the DR never to return.
I'm sure well be hearing more about this scam. Just when you think the DR can't get worse, now this.
I hope I am the "Bob" you are talking about. I had been "living" in the D. R. Essentially since April of this year, and been traveling there for about 7 years. I started to see the same things others are seeing. I stopped posting, mainly because of the personal attacks (like Pooter complaining about my CAPS) and not really listening to the message.
I love many things about the D. R. But fortunately I don't own property, have a leased apartment, car or pasola. I left there in a rush when I saw two very special friends so easily and willfully scammed by misusing their legal system and heard of the others all in a recent and short period of time. Google "impedimento de salida" and you'll see a number of their uses for this valuable legal tool, including, but not limited to airport immigration.
Also, I am not telling anyone what to do or where to go. Just be informed. Many will tell you it's nothing to worry about. Check their interests. Do they own property down there? What are their motives? I for one, have no intentions of every going back to the D. R. After what I've seen. There are other places to go for sure, but I look with a much more keen interest to State Department Warnings now.

We all do dumb shit but once you realize that she was 17 you should've let that go ASAP and like Mr. E said got ghost. I don't care how good the pussy was or if it was love at first sight for your safety wait that extra year. It's a scary thought to know that your one phone call away by the parents or the girl to be in some MAJOR shit.
So in the mean time feel free to enjoy the MASSIVE 18yr and up abundance that DR has provided for us

I have repeatedly said this is my past postings and thank you for pointing this out again. Prior to almost a year ago chicas could stroll the block from sun up to sun down making money. By nightfall some would be done for the day and others who have made their (self-imposed) monetary quotas for the day could throttle back and do a TLN knowing that they will also more than likely get a free meal come morning. In the new atmosphere in Sosua chicas are racing against the clock since they have to start tricking much later than before, so the pressure is on the make as much money as they can before the sun rises. <= (reads "less than or equal to") 3000-3500RD for TLN verses <=1500-2500RD x 4 gringos a night might seem like a much more attractive option to chicas these days. I really can't see a chica traveling all the way from somewhere like SD and risk being arrested only to make $92 (3500RD) per night for a few days. But then again, something is better than nothing.
On the flip side, a chica does risk losing everything she made that night if arrested verses if she would have just accepted 3500RD for TLN.
I really can't see a chica traveling all the way from somewhere like SD and risk being arrested only to make $92 (3500RD) per night for a few days.
Without wishing to contradict your general argument, most chicas who made 3500 for (say) four nights would be delighted. 14, 000 pesos is a month's salary for an educated person with job skills or qualifications. Travel to and from SD is only around 1000 pesos. A day wasted in each direction, but time means nothing to the locals as what else have they got to do.

Travel to and from SD is only around 1000 pesos. A day wasted in each direction, but time means nothing to the locals as what else have they got to do.
Sir Charles, in your estimation does a typical DR puta do multiple clients in a day? My impression was always that unlike say NY where there is something of a sellers market, in the DR the puta / monger ratio creates a buyers market (even among dominicans) and most chicas are lucky to hook up with a single client in an evening. Obviously in the distribution some evenings they will have several and some they will have none, but unlike what most Americans and Europeans are accustomed to, putas are not banging guys one after another (through no fault of their own).
Or am I wrong? Even in casas de chicas I don't have the impression that a typical chica has a dance card that's very full. It does make a difference if you are negotiating to understand the background.
This also relates to the ST / LT debate. I have always assumed that most chicas I pick up (and I admit I try hard to avoid hard core pros) really don't have much chance of getting another date anyway. Partly on that basis I always just offer ST and treat them well. Often they choose to stay anyway. That and interviewing them has convinced me of the view that at least the chicas I am interested in tend to feel lucky to pick up one guy in an evening.
Another vaguely related question Sir Charles, is if the extranjero puta rate in Sosua / PP is 1500/2500, what is the typical Dominican rate in a town like La Vega, or San Pedro. 500?
