I do not know about a bank ever being free but I move money via Vanguard with NO fee.

This ATM 150 baht charge for foreigner withdrawals has been covered several times before.
You're going to have to deal with it...or bring cash (no charge), or TCs (35 baht a check).
Anybody have any good reports about going out in Bangkok, finding ladies, and having fun?
Go-go bars, G-clubs, beer bars, FL'ers, etc. C'mon!
Maybe Jackson can start a Thai Banking thread for those of you who want to save 150 baht?

It's not necessarily about "bringing cash". Some of us live here. And exchanging info here IS dealing with it, so I guess you'll just have to deal with that.

It is currently running on a trial basis but only a few hours in the morning and evening. It is supposed to go throughout the day on a fee paying basis in early august. Apparently there will be an express version and a non-express version - the former will get you to Nana station in about 30 minutes, allegedly.
Guys who are in Thaland now, what would you say about the freelance scene (streetwalkers, Beergarten in BKK, Beach Rd in Pattaya etc type of thing) in these days? Enough good looking girls, or is it somewhat dead?

No disrespect but you're right that we have to deal with it! but like so many topics on or off they get recycle again and again! But technically ATM'S, are located throughout Bangkok, they dispense money to anyone in Bangkok that has to access money! When the ATM does it job properly one can have the fun they are seeking so they can give us reports about going out in Bangkok, finding ladies and having fun in Bangkok, Go-go bars, G-Clubs, beer bars, Fl'ers, etc...throughout Bangkok. C'mon we all have gotten off track from time to time... if there is one person that can stay on topic every single time they would be contrue a Saint and shouldn't be on this site.
It's impossible task so we all need to deal with it as you say... look at the one Thread regarding I believe "Announcements" NO QUESTIONS OR ANSWERS" that was suggested to Jackson to create and read through it and you will see nothing but Announcement that requires questions or answers.
You are suggesting the impossible but thanks for the input...does eating, shopping and sightseeing tours etc... belong? Does the fighting between the red and yellow? it goes on and on... when is it enough or not enough who is the judge? those who have tried is responsible for all the dead and useless thread that now languish. I also get cash when I am back at home base, and then I go to Super Rich Exchange. Such is life. A long string of comments about paying $5us to get money out of a machine...I didn't like it either when they first started a year ago!

No disrespect, and didn't mean to drag it on... but personally if I can help one expat or a tourist and prevent this kind of B.S. from happening that would ruin anyone trip instead of using that money to get some pussy. Our age maybe not your's something like loosing 10,000 can be a real downer trying to complete the rest of your evening thinking this BJ is really costing me? I compare the lost to how many Go-Go girls, Beach Road, Soi 6, Freelancer I lost out of because of Aeon Bank?

I read that there is an express to Makkasan (MRT) that will be 15 minutes and a local to Phaya Thai that will take 27 minutes. Not sure if this is correct, just an article I read awhile ago. Check the general info thread, it is being discussed there as well.

That means two different travel segments to lower Suk. Between lugging your gear up and down the station stairs and the waiting for the train/BTS I can't see the big advantage; other than it being somewhat time certain, and maybe a little cheaper.

Plenty of freelance girls in the carpark area of Nana hotel now. You don't even have to wait for chucking out time - they seem to start gathering at about 10pm or even earlier.
There are also girls to be found along Sukhumvit, from Soi 3 onwards. Many pretend to be waiting at the bus stop there. I have even seen them there during the day, even a couple of African ones too.
You may well find that these freelancers are fairly new to the game or are on the game more often than before due to the fall in the economy. I could not help noticing that I was getting to meet more ex-factory girls who were turning their hands to a bit of freelancing.
