TM.[/QUOTE]One thing I'll add to what has already been posted is assuming you do arrive at 9:30 pm, you likely will be at your hotel closer to 11 pm than midnight, assuming you run like a bat out of hell from the plane to immigration (to avoid long immigration lines). or at least walk fast. The traffic shouldn't be too bad at that time of night, and traffic is one of the things that can really slow things down.

On the other hand, if a number of planes land just before yours, you might still end up on a long line at immigration, which could add some time before reaching your final destination.

One other thing is although some people prefer the Blue Bird or Express taxis to Silver Birds for reasons of cost (although a Silver Bird will not cost more than about $25 US to get you to your hotel), typically there are shorter lines for the Silver Birds, and besides you might prefer to go to your destination in a Mercedes than a lesser car. Just look for the Silver Bird sign (near the curb) as you leave immigration and the terminal. I believe it will be towards your left as you leave the terminal (at least based on the door I exit from).

Definitely Silverbird. Why waste time and its not that much money? Especially after a long flight you will appreciate the comfort as you get stuck in Jakarta traffic.

I am usually through immigration in a matter of seconds (Sapphire) and if I have check-in luggage I am still waiting at the carousel right next to the fools who were elbowing everyone trying to get to immigration as quick as possible. You might save 5 or 10 minutes at immigration if you don't have check-in luggage, but is it really worth it?

However, as one who doesn't hire a facilitator on the grounds it is unnecessary and wasteful spending, I can say on some occasions I have run to immigration, and was really glad I did as within a couple of minutes there were around 200 people in line behind me. This will depend though on which airline you fly; for example if you arrive on a Japanese airline, the vast majority of the passengers will enter as non-resident foreigners and therefore will go to the same line as most other foreigners will.

On those few occasions where there was another airplane or two that arrived before me, my luggage was already at the baggage carousel when I finally made it there. On the other hand, when I have gotten through immigration quickly, typically I have only had to wait five or ten minutes before my luggage arrived. Then again, I always fly business class so my luggage is usually among the first on the luggage carousel. No need to wait long for it.

But thanks for pointing out that anyone who runs to immigration so as to avoid the possibility of waiting on a long immigration line is making an idiot of themselves. Very constructive comment that has little merit if one is on a tight schedule. And if you want to talk about making an idiot of yourself (as you apparently do), claiming that people elbow you to get to immigration quickly certainly fits the bill; it might come as a surprise to you but walking fast or even running to immigration does not constitute "elbowing." There is plenty of room at the Jakarta airport to walk fast or run without colliding with others.

Perhaps you're always lucky; I flew in on SQ business literally last week, landed ahead of schedule at 22:20, was through immigration by 22:35 (short taxi) and waited for my 1 checked luggage with priority tags till 23:20 (same waiting time as when I flew in on Garuda business with platinum status 3 weeks or so earlier), out through customs a few minutes later. I did literally get elbowed on the travelator by a running idiot despite walking on it with a normal speed, not the first time that that happened either.

My point is, in all of my travels in and out of Jakarta I have never seen the lines long enough to warrant any running from the plane. Even when I arrived last week when 6 flights (EK, EY, CX, MH, SQ and OZ) all landed within about 30 minutes from each other the lines were very reasonable and fast enough. We were the last flight to land and the running idiot who elbowed me from my flight joined me at the carousel about 10 minutes after I arrived there. To me saving 10 minutes is definitely not worth making a mad dash to immigration. Perhaps it is to you, each to his own.

If those 10 minutes, or be it 30 minutes, are going to make or break your business deal of a lifetime perhaps it was a better idea to simply take an earlier flight from the get-go. If it simply means you can start whoring 10 minutes earlier I seriously question your life choices. What would happen to your oh so tight schedule if your flight got delayed I wonder.

Then again you state during your last such instance your flight was the last of six to land within a period of 30 minutes; not difficult to connect the dots, at least not for most.

Jakarta definitely briskly.

Manila same.

Bangkok same.

HK. If you have HK ID or ASEAN or Frequent visitor card no need. But if no such cards, walk as briskly as you can.

Tokyo. Take your time.

Singapore. Walk as leisurely as you like.

Heathrow. Briskly will help.

LAX. Lines whether you walk fast or not.

Beijing Capital. Brisk is usually better.

Shanghai. Brisk.

Thankfully, many passengers totally dawdle which helps those of us who do walk faster than others.

And all this is good when travelling alone. When travelling with a GF, no matter from what race, background, socio economic group, they always seem to dawdle and so we get stuck at the back of the lines at all the above mentioned airports.

In 20 plus years of ISG this is first time I've seen a pissing contest on whether to walk faster or slower in airports. The ability of two people here to start a fight about any subject under the sun never ceases to amaze.

Indonesia than in Thailand. However mongering in Jakarta can be time consuming because of traffic, where as Phil / Thai are more concentrated in areas which are easier to get around (my opinion) I could be wrong because I did not spend that much time in North Jakarta because I like the freelance bar seen.

Whats a Stunner? Everybody taste is different, but I paid 1 juta for a stunner and had a good ST (Bats) and paid between 500-700 plus taxi in Top Gun for slender young and sometimes very near stunner. Keep in mind I rather go home with a good looking lady with a nice attitude, than a ***** stunner that will not give you a good time. If you don't mind me asking, what do you usually pay? How much are the girls at Mulia for ST / LT.
