I am still seeking an acceptable hotel in Davao City, I have nice hotels in Makati, Cebu and Ormoc. Nothing in Davao City. The Anisabel Suites Hotel in Bacaca section of Davao was NOT at all acceptable. At 2,750 pesos/hNt for what they call an Executive Room, it is at least 1,000 pesos over priced, maybe more. The Hotel caters primarily to a Filipino customer, as confirmed by my discussion with the Hotel General Manager. She is seldom at the Hotel and is the only person speaking fluent english. Many on the Staff spoke no english and the Hotel Manager spoke at a 6th grade level.

The Hotel has no swimming pool, internet access (except wifi), no business center, no security lockup for valuables, no assistance with airline tickets, nothing. The only restaurant, Mamu's, serves ONLY FILIPINO FOOD! Last Thursday night I dined there with a Filipina I just met (separate post on this). I ended up with Food Poisoning for the third time in my life. I spent most of Friday, all of Saturday and most of Sunday in bed extremely ill with all the spymtoms you could expect (no need for me to detail this). The girl told me the following day that she felt ill also from the dinner but nothing like me.

Both Rose and Ceres Fe dined in the hotel restuarant. Neither could eat their meal, claiming the food tasted bad. Rose, Conor's mother, commented on how the kitchen staff did not wear head coverings or aprons, standard kitchen attire.

I previewed a new Hotel in Davao City, Hari Royale, located at corner of Narra St & Sta Ana Avenue (082 300-0111). It opened the end of September and work is ongoing inside.
