For the guys who discover the potential of wechat now, I would recommend to keep some points in mind to avoid getting disappointed or even in serious trouble:

1) Unfortunately the pimps who spam around elsewhere also have been the first ones who discover the potential of wechat for their business, so better keep in mind, that often the "sexy girl" you chat with actually has a 3rd leg and the target to send one of his girls to you.

2) On wechat many of the working girls play the same "policy" than they do with their ads. So mostly the pictures you will see on their profile are erotic models from Japan or Korea, but not often really the girl. But if you are lucky and not in touch with a pimp, than at least you have a good chance, that she will send a real picture in the chat.

3) But for that better consider, that there is NO Chinese girl which not use MeiTu and several other apps to "pimp up" their pictures in seconds. That means: smooth skin, big eyes, slik face, slim nose, longer legs, slim waist is done in 5 seconds, so mostly the girl finally will look some years older and not so "well shaped" than on her pictures.

4) The most important point is, that also the "Scam Business" already found this way of "marketing", so be careful if a girl tell you, she work in a massage, bar or KTV, can not go out this moment, but not busy there and if you like, you could come over to her (and probably have some fun). That could end up in one of this "black massage or KTV shops" where they rip you off for at least 5 to 10.000 with blackmailing, beat guys off and so on. So instead of "follow a pimp", also a wechat contact can bring you in this trouble actually. But same as not follow any guy on the street, just keep the rule not to follow the call over of any girl to a "private" place on the first contact, than there is no need to worry.

And another point that could surprise you, if you are not familiar with the Chinese culture (at least it had this effect on me some years ago). Many girls use that also just to get expensive gifts or even cash without anything in return. Sounds weird to us, but Chinese guys are used to the fact, that they need to impress girls with their money and show off how generous they are. So don't be confused, if a girl you not even met or chat for longer time suddenly ask you for a iPhone. And don't expect if you buy it for her, that this will follow up to a great weekend. If she not have any special interest on you, she will meet you for a coffee, take the Phone and leave after 15 minutes and will probably not talk with you any more before Apple release the next model So better not play that game, if you are one of the guys who expect to get a value for his investment.

Many of the "obvious" ones are actually pimps who will send you a girl who looks nothing like the doctored photos that you see on WC. Set a profile picture that obviously shows you're a foreigner and you'll probably get a lot of requests from them. After a bit, you'll be able to identify those just by the profile, photos, and language used. A better strategy, I think, is sending messages to more normal looking girls nearby. You never know what you can drum up that way.

You can smoke out the guys posing as females by calling them on a video chat. My Chinese GF did this when Set up a second Wechat account and pretended to be a john seeking FS. She smoked me out.

There are a couple in Changning district which is quite close to you, and there's also Minhang which is full of them though priced higher. PM for info.

It was directly out the front of the sheraton (as if you walled right through the bushes) to the road directly in front. I believe it was straight down that road on the left. If you got to the park you went too far. If it is not there, take a left at the park and look on the left side of the road. There is usually a guy sitting on a chair watching the small door but not always. It is one place or the other. Gray building.

I believe the name was Xing he (or Xing LE) sauna.

This place was only a few blocks from the hotel so no great loss of time if it's not there anymore. Check it out and let me know if its still around. Good memories that is for sure.

I've been a lot in Thailand but never in China. India is also something I'm considering.

Now with a little different situation in Thailand I wonder where you would go? Only mongering is the focus.

I am open to travel anywhere and open to listen to good advice.

Are you asking about which city in China is best for mongering? Shanghai, hands down. About 3 years ago, that title would have gone to Dongguan, but it got cleaned out and the girls moved up here. MPs, low and high-end saunas, pickup bars are plentiful. Independents with great reviews can be found on multiple websites.

My favorite mongering destinations in Asia.

Thailand (no explanation needed), Macau (you haven't seen saunas until you go to Macau), Singapore (where protitution is legal), Johor Bahru, Malaysia (easily accessible from Singapore), Jakarta (cheap), Vietnam (cheap, multiple cities), Philippines (multiple cities).

Shanghai Hotel and 999 had gone to sauna heaven. Sacrosa is alive and well, and is one of my favorite places. But to get the big bargain (600 rmb), you have to be out by 8:30 PM. After that, it is 700 rmb for the 60-70 minutes session, still a good deal.

It is not only the establishment near the Sheraton, in China, you almost always have to get past the bushes to reach where you want to go.

If you are talking about Merrilyn Hotel opposite the Intercontinental Pudong Hotel, I think it is still in business. Is it not run by the same group that operates Bodi?
