Any reports / comments on the Sarrosa Hotel ? Seems like a decent price and reasonably new.
First time traveler to PI, will be arriving at end of Jan - happy to hook up with any other punters as well.

Thanks Joking and SH for Net advice.
I've been using Robinson Place Cafe de France, good connections, uncomfortable seating.
The place joking recommends...I'll try it again. I went in once and was completely ignored so I walked out. He, he, Korean hospitality.

What are the best non-bar pickup areas in Cebu City?
And th best bar pickup places where th music isnt loud enough to make your ears bleed?
Thx all
Sorry for so many posts but im in a bit of a rush and I ask questions as they occur to me
Could whoever mentioned th Raja Hotel be more sprecific as to its location and price-- there seems to be 2 different places people are`talking about. Is th Raja near th Fuente circle and used to go under another name?
The inside rooms w/o windows appeals to me b/c they are usually quietr than ones facing th street
Also, I have a usa passport and visited th PI many times in th 90s on a 21 day arirval visa which ould be extended to 59 days and possibly beyond at th Immigration office in Cebu Is this still possible
I hear conflicting stories about this, one that to stay beyond th 2 days you have to obtain a 3 mth visa from PI consulate/embassy before travel
Anyone have any definitive info on this, much appreciated
Does anyone have any info on the Castle Peak Hotel in Cebu? It seems to have really good room rates. Is it close enough to all the action and worth booking? I'll be in the Philippines in March and I'm looking for an inexpensive but clean Hotel in Cebu. Castle Peak is at:

Thanks for any info you can provide.

A bar manager and her 26 “entertainers” were arrested by the Cebu City Police Office in a raid last Wed. night along Gen. Maxilom Ave. The joint team of ….raided Papillon Bar at 11:45 p.m. Police had received reports that the bar was used as a front for prostitution activities.
VCS Chief George Ylanan identified the manager as Jade S. Garcia, 40, of ….
..based on the business permit issued by the Cebu City Hall, the establishment is a cocktail bar.

I visited FH (formerly Firehouse) after one year. It's really gone downhill. There was only one lady I thought attractive. What a shame, it used to be such a fun place. Apparently early work release is 2700 but "includes the girl".
Silver Bullet ...as usual. There is a long bar and sometimes its hard to get a beer when you want it. Nothing especially attractive there, but the girls are usually playful.
Lone Star. Got there too early at 7:30 and despite warnings that I would be mobbed, I was ignored. Hey, that's been happening a lot lately! One lady kept eying me as she put on her makeup. I got up to leave at 7:45 and she shouts out, "No, don't leave! I want to fuck you!" Hmmm, high class place.
Viking the best place by far. One dancer showing off her shaved muff.
Exotica had one really cute girl with hair nearly down to her ass. Not particularly friendly though. I ended up with a really small skinny one, who had a nice slim waist despite having two kids. I paid her night off fee (2000 pesos). Her eyes would role back into her head as we did the deed...which we did three times. Really easy to talk to. She said I was her first barfine. (maybe that night?)
Two days later I texted her a New Year Greeting and she said her kid was in the hospital. Uh oh, here comes another sob story. Much to my surprise she thanked me for the earlier tip because it helped her out. Hey, maybe I was her first bar fine!
BIG MISTAKE: I confirmed ahead of time that at least two of the bars would be open on New Years eve. They were, but others were closed. The places that were open were only half staffed. Dimples closed at 11:30. The girl I planned to bar fine went to work according to her text. She was gone by the time I got there (Viking) at 9pm. I was suprised because Christmas in Manila was business as usual. NOTE: When in PI on New Year's eve, make sure you have a lady ahead of time.

The hotel is around 10 minutes by taxi from the main bar scene. No problem so far to have guests. Good location also to visit Ayala and SM. Both just five minutes. Furnitures are poor which is normal for most hotels. Downstairs is an internet cafe. Prices below 2k. It's worth a look.

I was in Cebu on December 28th and stayed at the Raja. It use to be "Park Place," then it was called the "Garfield." Its right on Osmena Circle. It has a big sigh that also says Casino Filipino. They had a promo until December 31st offering a Standard Room for 2000p. I believe their rates now would be about 500p more.

Do you mean that the Raja Hotel which was previously the Garwood Park Hotel and before that the Park Place?
Having stayed there when it was the Park Place, I now prefer the Marriott, but the last time I was there outside of this Raja you still have all the touts hanging, especially at night, asking if you want girls, if you are looking for action but you can now find women at Ayala mall. Some rooms are OK but you have to make sure you don’t get a road facing room.
Rajah is how they spell it on their pamphlet. Yea, used to be Garwood.
How much do you pay at Mariott? I went in and asked for a room rate. The lady doesn't say anything, but starts playing with her computer. I thought she was ignoring me (happens a lot lately). Finally something starts printing...and I start to feel impatient. Geeez Louise, just tell me how much. Well, this nice little form comes out, she tears it off and hands it too me. Lowest price was over $100. I just set it back down and walked out.

With the Marriott its always best to check the on-line price, and ask what the walk in rate they are offering, but they claim the on-line rate is their best price. I paid around $70 per night, also if you are with any airline’s ff programs you can use this to be offered a good room rate. I should add this all depends on the time of the year, low season, high season, as is the case for most hotels world wide.

Exactly. If you check online right now, the lowest rate at Cebu Marriott is about USD $64. (I just happen to be looking, as I'm traveling there from Manila tomorrow.)
And as Juniour says, this goes pretty much for any hotel anywhere... I always book online.
