Anti-STD Personal Lubricant. If the condom splits, tears or breaks, you still have a 600% greater resistance against contracting an STD.[/QUOTE]
John, thank you for telling me about these products. They had escaped my attention. I checked out the pages you referenced and found ... snake oil. Come on. If these things did what they say they can do, these people would be out buying Microsoft and Google.
Check the ingredients and you'll see these are personal lubricants with the addition of some natural antiseptics and skin soothing botanicals. Nothing there will stop the passage of bacteria and viruses anymore than a good dollop of Vaseline. In fact, Vaseline might work better as it might plug your urethra for the duration of the sex.
The Freedom Antiviral page made several out and out false claims (at least one of which showed a complete lack of understanding of how the herpes virus works). The Slic+ page makes the 600% claim but doesn't give any information about how they derived that number or exaclty what it means.
It doesn't take much of a web search to find that Freedom Antiviral has been the target of an FDA probe and, I assume, if they continue to make these claims, will be again. Slic + seemed more sedate in their claims but I suspect they will eventually go too far.
The claims from both are great but remember, this wonderful internet makes it possible for anyone to claim nearly anything. I might claim my pet is a basset hound but if it goes quacking into the pond, chances are it;s a duck.
When you see wonderful things like this advertised on the web, check into it a little bit. Look for facts not testimonials.
