Soi 13 is very close to walking street -- a walk of less than 5 minutes.
Not only that, it is also a good opportunity to check the talents on the beach road. Also, it's not too far to Soi 7/8. Soi 13/1 (Soi Post Office?) and 13/2 are very close. From location Dynasty Inn is very good.
But, I stay now in Nova Platinum, which is a bit more expensive, but much more convinient. W-Lan which you have in Dynasty Inn only in the second floor and very nice rooms with a very comfortable bed.

DG69:
Nova Platinum looks nice, but seems an awfull long way from the action.
How far/long is it to walk to say, soi6?
How frequent are the bus connections?
What is the rack rate right now, incl. taxes, breakfast(?)
Thanks for your input

Welcome Plaza Hotel
While I'm in Pattaya, I usually stay at the Welcome Plaza Hotel.

Great location (very near the Royal Garden and a few minutes walk from Beach Road, Walking Street, etc.), nice swimming pool, excellent value for the money. The rooms are large and bright. The bathrooms are not too great, but correct. I don't like their breakfast buffet and I notify that I won't take the breakfast at this hotel when I make my reservations with them (they will apply a 50 baht discount on their room rates then if I am not mistaken).
IMPORTANT: Book your room with them (use the e-mail address mentioned on their website) or they may try to charge you a joiner fee when you come back with a guest at this hotel after the night has fallen (they don't check during the daytime).

It might be a 30 minute walk from NP to Soi 6. The location is not so good since NP is on the southern end of the long Pattaya line starting from Soi Naklua in the North to Pattaya hills in the south.
There are enough Bhat Busses, but it can need some time since there are several traffic lights (corner south Pattaya Road and Central Pattaya Road) also there is a big construction site (New Shopping Mall) neer Soi 9 which might cause delay.
Best rates you get on the amari website. I got it for 1900 Bhat per day average. During the week it's lower than at the Weekends. No, Breakfast included. If you want breakfast than it will be more expensive of course. Not worth the extra money, at least for me, since I like to have a late breakfast. I also, didn't manage to use the nice pool, since during daytime the weather wasn't good, alot of rain and I slept always long.

Hotel Recommendation
I am going to be in Pattaya in mid Dec on my third trip, and was wondering if ant members can help me with choosing an alternative hotel to the one I have stayed in before
On my first trip, I stayed at Tims Boutique Hotel on Soi 12 for 14 nights and on my second trip I stayed at the Whitehouse on Soi 13. I found that Tims Boutique was quite an expensive place to stay compared to The White House (almost 50%!). Whilst at the White House, I noticed Dynasty Grande next door which also looked good, but I have no idea if it is a better quality hotel compared to The White House.
I have also heard that Sabia Lodge / Resort is also a good place to stay, but once again compared to the above hotels I have no idea what to expect.
Any help in deciding will be truly appreciated

Sunshine Pattaya
Anyone stay here recently? Sorry, too lazy to use search function right now. Already made my reservation. Made it directly with hotel. Paying only slightly over what Asiatravel shows on their website.

Siam Bayshore
Does anyone know about this hotel, its looks really nice, very close to walking street (is it on it?). Are the Guest Friendly?
Thanks in advance guys

Sunshine Hotel
I stay there last month & it is nice value hotel; especially, when they offer the 7/6 deal.

Sabai Lodge is a nice hotel on Soi 2. Nice pools for the afternoon. Girl friendly, balcany, good average room. The only problem is a little far from Walking Street.

Andy
I stayed there last month, and it's really a posh hotel. It's at the quiet end of walking street, and it seems to be a bit out of place so close to all of the craziness. But it's like an oasis. Quiet, peaceful, and tranquil. The only drawbacks are that it's really a family friendly hotel with lots of kids running around (at least there were when I was there), they definitely charge a large joiner fee (I think it was 1000 baht or US $30), and the pool is actually across the street on the beach side of the street (which means that there is absolutely no privacy beccause you have to cross walking street in your bathing suit, and everyone walking up and down the street can see right into the pool area.
This hotel actually features a large conference center and caters to the corporate crowd. I really felt a little out of place there. Didn't see anyone else who appeared to be a monger.
In summary. I think it's a great hotel for someone who will confine their activities to massage parlors or soapies or short term rentals. Not the greatest place to bring a guest.

Mercure Hotel
For those of you that have stayed at the Mercure.
Can you take a short cut to Second street by walking through the mall?

Max
Hi MadMax1,
I know you were asking for advice for other hotels - but can you advise me about the Whitehouse. How was it?
Thanks in advance.
I usually stayed at the LK Renaissance and can recommend it.

It was demolished a while back to make way for the new shopping plaza.

I checked the first days when I were this time in Pattaya some of the hotels you mentioned. White House is not better than Dynasty Inn (not Grande). Only drawback in boths no wireless lan. Well, in Dynasty Inn second floor you can have it. Dynasty made a better impression on my than Whitehouse and LK Hotel. Tims Boutique Hotel is expensive and they charge 350 Baht per day for W-Lan, extra.
Sabai Lodge, is different than the Hotels above. Sabai has bungaloos around pools and is a resort. Nice to spend some time with long term gf. If you like nice pools and hang around with your girl also on daytime than Sabai Lodge is right. It's not far to the action in Soi 6, Soi 3 and Soi 2. Also, just beside Big C and the massage parlours. For guys who are more interested in Short times, Dynasty Inn, LG or White House is Ok. Also, those Eastany Hotels in Soi 7 and 8 are great. I would say even better than Dynasty.
Prices for Dynasty is about 1400 Baht and Eastany same range. Sabai depend on season, but expect 1500 - 2200 Baht, depend what kind of bungaloo you take.
