The Sweet Smell of Plaza de Los Coches
Holy fucking shit guys. I made an account just to post this. I've mongered in Germany, Thailand, Philippines, Amsterdam and Costa Rica and this place blows them all out of the water. This is my first time here. First night. I was not expecting to be surrounded by so many incredibly beautiful women in one place. These women are absolutely stunning. Hotter than than anywhere I have ever been and all 18 - 25. After my night in heaven with probably the hottest girl I've ever been with in my entire night I'm already planning a second trip.
Welcome to paradise! I have been saying it for years. The greatest concentration of gorgeous women available at a price in the world. Between Plaza de Los Coches and the clubs that are within walking distance. Its just amazing the selection of gorgeous women. I have been to Thailand and have seen their red light districts, I can see if a man was partial to Asian women or another ethnicity, how they could disagree but I'm biased toward Latinas. Also as for Cartagena the bonus for me is that I appreciate the historic architecture and the ocean setting enough that I would probably visit even if there were not putas.
A few years ago there was an uptick in protests against prostitution in Plaza de Los Coches (clock tower area) and a reporter wrote a very eloquently written article about in defense of the prostitutes the title of the article being "The Sweet Smell of Plaza de Los Coches" here is an excerpt that I translated and a link below to the article, I used the Google Translator imbedded in my Google Chrome browser to translate the full article.
"A sweet aroma dominates the area. The benches are occupied by women arranged in threes, all with their backs straight, their legs crossed, dressed in phosphorescent garments well above the knee. The sweet aroma that dominates the area belongs to them. It is the sweet smell of prostitutes that every night take over that space to strut their silhouettes. Sirens who, instead of singing, perfume themselves to the last centimeter of their bodies to attract men. The Plaza de Los Coches is, at that time, the only place in the Historic Center that can boast of smelling so good. What would the Plaza de Los Coches would be without this handful of Egyptian princesses who visit it every night to be there, standing as lookouts, firmer than the Clock Tower, as if they were the ones who actually marked the hour of the town. Without prostitutes and without the party places whose economy depends on them, the Plaza de Los Coches would be a dead place, devoid of humanity...."

Your second trip will be better
Holy fucking shit guys. I made an account just to post this. I've mongered in Germany, Thailand, Philippines, Amsterdam and Costa Rica and this place blows them all out of the water. This is my first time here. First night. I was not expecting to be surrounded by so many incredibly beautiful women in one place. These women are absolutely stunning. Hotter than than anywhere I have ever been and all 18 - 25. Venezuelan and Colombians. The currency exchange rate took a little getting used to buy it's pretty much $50 - $100. I'm staying in old city near clock tower and just stumbled into two random clubs and found my Amiga for the night. An absolutely beautiful 22 year old Venezuelan. A few problems I've ran into:
- I emailed like 15 hotels before I visited. About 70% had a no "comfort lady" policy. The other ones allowed a guest, but they had to check in with you as your second guest. I emailed like 10 airbnbs as well and that was pretty much the same, but I got the feeling that I could bring multiple girls back to the airbnb while the hotels that wouldn't really be possibly. I opted to get a nice hotel and just get a love hotel room for $15 and avoid the hassle. I didn't really want the normal people at my nice hotel to see my shenanigans anyway.
- Out of all the places I've traveled, not speaking the language here is definitely very difficult. Like very very difficult. I'm considering hiring a translator to just follow me around to help. I don't speak any Spanish and it's tough..
Sound to me that you just looked out of place to attract that many touts in that area. How exactly were you dressed?
I usually just dress to blend in. No flashy gear, no NBA, MLB gear or name brand anything to let them know where I'm from because then come the touts. First thing I learned how to say was "No tengo deniero" Second thing I learned was "No tengo una".
As for AirBB its a long battle. I always ask them straight out what is their guest policy if they do not list it anywhere in the listing. Some flat out say in the house rules they do not rent to male only guests. Some say they do not allow prostitution, some even boldly say if they suspect prostitution or they will cancel the reservation, you must leave the property immediately and no refund will be given. Some are confusing as well because it says additional guests allowed as long as you do not exceed the total number of the house but then further down in the listing it says outside guests not allowed or guests not listed on the booking not allowed.
Its all a learning experience and the first trip is usually the one where many mistakes are made and lessons are learned.
Gee, your mindset about giving everyone $100 is a bit troubling
I actually offered them $100 each because I really didn't want to go to a Columbian jail, but they refused. Not sure if it would have gone so smoothly without that local guy. I was pretty scared though. I hope I don't get a fine or something when I'm leaving the country. Guess we will see. Fucking Covid.
This is Colombia we're talking about. Stop offering $100 bribes to the locals, be it the cops or the touts, or they'll come up with a customized expensive con just for you. It actually might not be a bad idea to offer 15,000-20,000 COP to one of those hyenas so they shoo off other hyenas in the Old Town, BUT always remember what they are -- fucking hyenas that's what (do NOT befriend them).
