LL - My Perspective and Thanks.
I guess it is only fair that my first post to this forum is one of gratitude to the team at Livingstone's Lodge. Now for those of you who have not had the divine pleasure of staying there I can only say this..."Get off your f$#kin ass and go!". Sorry I don't usually fly off the handle like that but if you've been then you'd understand.
I have been twice now; mid May'07 and early Oct'07. Both times were sensational. A friend of mine stumbled across this forum in February and came across the information about LL @Soi 33 and made it a port of call amid a 2 week rampage across LOS. To make a long story short we stayed there for 3 nights in the first week, loved it so much we shored up 2 nights early in Pattaya and went back Livingstone's for a further 2 nights which just so happened to coincide with the Pool party that month.
Ok...now I understand that the Lodge may not be for everybody and the Sports Bar may be a bit overwhelming from a distance but it really isn't. And even if you have doubts you should go and see for yourself. In this place everyone (from the top down) cannot do enough for you so that your stay is as pleasurable as you could possibly want it to be. My only recommendation is that you leave all your stress, worries and grumpiness at the door. You are there to have fun, sit, sing and dance a little if you're so inclined. The happier you are the more you'll get out of it. I would stand in a court of Law and testify to this very fact. Simply put I wake up in better mood now knowing that this place exists on the planet and that i'm only a couple jobs and plane ride away from going back there.
Ok now I’m just going to rattle off some things that I know have been said on this forum before but I shall reserve my right to re-iterate.
The Cribs (Rooms)
I have stayed in the Superior, Deluxe and Junior Suites at LL. Briefly I would say that I was happy with all the rooms, they are what they are. The Double Jacuzzi's in the Junior Suites are great (and yes I did use them on multiple occasions...not necessarily by myself). The Superior rooms are certainly adequate and provide you with everything you need. However my room of choice is the Deluxe Room. It fits in there nicely as a "middle ground compromise" class of room and for this trip it fit nicely into my budget.
The Chow (Food)
It was a struggle to leave Livingstone's for a culinary reason. So we didn't. The food at LL's is in a word Spectacular. My Main of choice: Argentinean Tenderloin - Medium or Medium Well (depending on your taste, I have medium), Mushroom Sauce, and Mash Potatoes. If you've got the cash splash out on a featured Red Wine. It isn't their cheapest dish (far from it and almost the exact opposite) but damn the money man and get it, I implore you! On the last night my friend and I were treated to a meal prepared by a celebrity Chef which turned out to be one of the best Thai Green Curries I’ve ever had meet my palette. Oh and before I forget, when you have breakfast get the Scrambled Eggs & Bacon, Sandwich bread, Orange Juice and Coffee. They must use the Force when they make those scrambled eggs, cause all I know is my gut worm is satisfied...at both ends!
The Sports Bar (Sports bar)
Cheez I hope you play Pool. If there ever was an inanimate stalwart in that bar it is the pool table. If you don't play pool then my friend pull up a chair and watch the ensuing matches. Some of those women can play. Looks sexy too. Sorry Mrs.G. Besides that there is nothing better than a cold bottle of Singha wrapped up, wall to wall women vying for your attention (unobtrusively so), great music and great company. Ahhhh the Good life.
My nights there have been memorable, so much so the downhill psychological slope when I return home is almost too much to bear. But that is Ok. It only makes me want to come back and have a better time. Dr.G thankyou. Livingstone's thankyou. I shall return Mid-February.
Best Regards,
VenomQ.
PS: Dr.G keep Caruso on ice until I come back.
