I know I'll get answers to my following questions if I start digging into this forum. But my gosh. Its so vast. I'm losing it.
After lot of contemplation, have decided to pay a visit to BK starting Sep15th.

Hi, there is a reliable pharmacy very close to you. I went there many times already and bought reliable original and also generic products.
If you walk from soi Nana to Sukhumvit you turn left at the fuel station. Then you pass a money changer and you will find on your left hand side 2 (!) pharmacies. The first one is the smaller one. Please enter the second one (the larger one) and you will get what you need.

Foodland is on Soi 5. Took Lae Dee is the restaurant inside foodland but never paid much attention what is above it, thought it was some type of bar but you can call or email them and ask.

to address your last comment <sigh>: i'm not gonna take it personally, but to be clear (since my point has been diluted by so many straw men arguments and other misrepresentations), i have said over and over again that i fully support pricing info -- it's even directly stated in the conclusion/suggestions in my open letter to jackson. i have never once said anything about "banning" anyone. i also have never said anything about inflation not being real, i.e. that prices can't and don't rise.
my suggestion (again, see my letter) simply was that comments be helpful and suggestive, and that disparaging and antagonistic ones be removed or moved as disparaging remarks only serve to discourage people from reporting. so-called "watch dogs" can just as easily do the job we all thank them for, and to the exact same end, without being disparaging.
separately, i realize now that it was probably futile of me to raise the argument about market theory/realities, and this is part of the reason why i've stopped commenting on that aspect. within isg forums, such comments only fuels the already-lit fire, tend to drag on by encouraging many people to offer their opinions (case in point on this forum of late), and thus should be held elsewhere. so i will take the blame for that one.
thanks again for your report. interesting that, all potential confounding factors notwithstanding, some prices are relatively the same while others have risen a bit (in some cases doubled, assuming we're comparing apples to apples.) i'll check my notes too as, ironically, i first came to thailand in 2006 as well. i don't seem to recall paying much less then, but it does jive with my gut that it is more now.

Haha, yeah, even I felt like a bit of a sucker about that one! :) But she started at 10,000, and I got her down to 7000 plus adding in tons of services which I wanted (including BB, CIM/COF, and pictures and movie, but I don't share those, sorry,) and she was the super star of the place that night, so I figured, "oh well, it's worth the fantasy from time to time." I actually haven't had her back yet, but she makes it clear via sms's that she's eager and willing, so I always have an excellent backup plan -- just haven't had to actually use it yet! LOL.

My second time in Bangkok.
I stayed at the Jasmine Executive Suites on soi 23, plus visited Mango Massage, Annie's and Akane Chit Lom (see separate posts for all).
Went to Soi Cowboy two nights in a row, Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday most go-gos were pretty empty, at least after midnight, I would say the only place filled to the rafters was Tilac.
Quite a few good looking girls inside, I spoke to one who wished to go to the Full Moon Party in Pha Ngan so that she could "[I]see farang make boom boom on the beach[/I]".
Also witnessed a drunk punter getting his ass kicked by a ladyboy.
On Tuesday there were more people around, but after a couple of quick stops I went to Shark, and never left. I remembered Shark from my previous visit a year and a half ago as the establishment with the better looking dancers, and while beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I confirmed my preference. Tall, leggy, busty babes with see-through yellow tops. A fucking dream.
So anyway, once in I take things slowly, waiting for two sets of girls to go through their time on the stage before I finally make my decision. I go for the slimmest, leggiest of them all, and when she looks my way I offer her my tried and tested George Clooney smile, which she finds very resistible. Mai pen rai, I don't get discouraged easily, and I wave her Hello, and signal her to come seat next to me. She likely turns out to be a lot friendlier than her looks and demeanor may lead to believe, and is delighted to find out that my hotel is around the corner.
After some fondling to make sure she's as toned as she appeared to be, we strike a LT deal.
Back in my room I have a hard time not to spend the whole night looking at her perfectly shaped thighs, but finally succumb to her other charms (she's basically deep-throating me by now).
We have a good session, after which, exhausted, I turn off the lights.
Now, here comes the interesting part.
When the morning after I wake up, I'm startled to find her well awake, her face no more than a few centimeters from mine, looking intently at me. All right, she's obviously better than me at this game and, one way or another, she'd end up cornering me, so:

Her face undergoes a dramatic, sudden change: the scary look melts into the puppy-eyed look, in fact her whole body seems to shrink and fold.

She must have obviously attended some local institute where they teach these kind of tricks, because she looks sooo vulnerable and for a second there I feel like a heartless monster. I guess that that's how brothers of weak disposition get suckered into marriage with these little devils.
ME [I]I leave today, I never come to Bangkok again. We never see again[/I]
In a last effort she turns away from me, pretending to be hurt, but I found out during the night that she's incredibly ticklish, so I go for her weak spots and before long she surrenders to defeat, laughing like crazy, begging me to stop.
She knows she owes me another round, but before I can get down to business she jumps out of the bed and says [I]we breakfast now, later we boom boom again, yes? [/I]
After all she's still better than me. Probably getting a meal out of me has been the plan all along, the rest just a ploy to get to it. [I]yes, we breakfast now[/I]. I concede.
Anyone who seriously falls for these girls has issues, but at the end of the day his very behavior and naivety tell us that at heart he is a good guy.
However, anyone who looks down on or disparages these love machines based on the fact that "they're *****s", "they only do it for the money", "they couldn't find a better job", "they lie", "they're not 19 as they say", has some way more serious issues, and should be pitied.

Thai food in an old style environment.
Off soi 11, in a tiny L-shaped alley opposite the Ambassador.
Bangkok in August in almost unbearably hot and humid, you really have to hope the sun doesn't come out because it could be your death.

Had a horrible experience at Scratch Dog in the Windsor Hotel (Soi 20 Sukhumvit) recently. Paid 500 baht for hookah. When the coals died in 30 minutes, the venue wouldn't replace them and demanded another 500 baht. Something I've never seen done ANYWHERE else. Usually more coal is free or has a nominal cost and certainly not an entire new hookah, especially when you're shelling out 500 baht. Worse, when we were using the hookah as the coals were dying the staff was hovering over our hookah and quickly snagged it away unprompted. The attitude by the staff there is really too much. I've vowed never to return.

The Boss Suites is GF. I stayed there many times in recent months. You can however arrange for the place to pick up the girl ID in the front desk if you wish-for extra security. Russian chics are available at the Raja hotel coffee shop toward the end of Soi 4. If you are too lazy to walk the 500 meters or so to get there, just ask the tut tut driver from the Boss Suites to take you there and back (make sure you get the driver mobile and tip him well).

There is one a couple of blocks away on Soi 22 in the first block close to Larry's Fashions 8/3 that has everything including painkillers, xanax ect... with no doctors prescription needed.
