First, I have to say great report Chris. It's very well-written packed with good current info and photos.

Rio was a monger Disneyland until a few years ago. Help was definitely the mecca. I've never seen so much variety of working women in one place. Comparing Balcony today to the Del Rey in SJ is an excellent benchmark. Having been all over the world, I can assure you Help far exceeded the Del Rey any given night. Help was also a pretty awesome dance club in its day. In my opinion, Pattaya is entirely different since I can't compare Latin girls to Asian girls. They are both wonderful in different ways. Sadly, the Rio government has accomplished what it wanted. Mongering in Copacabana was very obvious a few years back. Help at night was a circus inside and outside at the large café in front. A few days ago maybe even a week or two or so I had a few questions about Rio and the scene out there. Minimum of $ 150 / night for a room in a 3 stars dump in Copa.

Minimum of $ 40 / day for 3 meals a day (nothing fancy)

Minimum of $ 10 / day for public transportation (sure you can walk for hours- but eventually you will get tired)

The last 250$ spend for 1 hour session at the terma. Plus couple of drinks for your and the lady.

And I am not factoring in the price of the airline ticket in there.

And there are no more 10's in Rio. Period. They were never 10's at the (over rated / hyped) Help. Centaurus in the late 90's up to the mid 00's used to have them. But alas, no mas.
