I hope some day everybody will understand that there are plenty of different markets in BKK, ranging from the cheap streetworkers at 500 Bath to real Models where the sky is the limit. You can rant as much as you like but can't change it. Different people have different tastes and different means. The same applies to houses, hotels, flights, clothes, cars, watches, food etc.

There are plenty wealthy guys in BKK, be they Thai, Asians or Farangs, who do not mind spending the same percentage of their income as most mongers on girls, but in their case that percentage adds up to a handsome amount.

One of my regulars just came back from a 5 day trip to Phuket staying in a fantastic villa, with a wealthy American. He paid her 100.000 for her time plus food etc.

Did the guy know that he "overspend" by Thai standards ? Yes. Did her care ? No, because he was very happy with the service rendered, had a great holiday which allowed him to recharge his batteries before heading back to the 80 hours workweek in Silicon Valley, and in the US he would probably have spend that much in a day, without any guarantee of good services.

Another 30 something year old girl, I know well, got an expensive condo on Thonglor, a Beamer and 100.000 from her Aussie gig who visits about 3 days a month. Knowing the guy's position and company, his income is at least 300.000 USD per year. Much more in the good years when the bonuses where fat. As long as she keeps him happy when he visits, he doesnt mind those, in his view, reasonable expenses.

But the discussion was not about supermodels vs. Nana SW, it was about a fellow monger who paid 2. 500 + tip 500 for a short time in Soi Cowboy.

Our friend was so nice to explain that he paid that amount because 1) he doesn't like to negotiate and 2) he was happy with the girl, hence he tipped.

While I very much respect our fellow's wiew and decision, I stand with my point that overpaying in Thailand is not necessary and often is not wise. Overpaying (meaning giving more than how you are expected/supposed to with noting in exchange) won't make you more popular or guarantee you a better service. There are endless reports here and on other fora mentioning unreasonable requests punctually followed by awful attitude and poor performance in bed. And in a country where most of the people, even rich ones, are careful consumers and do not like to make public display of their wealth, overspending seriously risks to make you look like a sucker rather than successful guy with a top salary.

It is good to know the low prices, the average and reasonable ones and, as a curiosity, what some are paying
We are all grown up to recoggnize the high prices and we dont need to comment but if someone is happy to spend...let him be happy.
I myselg make comments in my mind on some outrageously cheap prices (a beggar would get moew, sometime), nevertheless I dont bother the folks here with my comments on those cheap charlies :)

I know it's an endless debate but:

- don't confuse issues: overpaying is not paying more for a higher quality girl, it's paying more than most other customers for the same girl in the same place. Taking your examples to the extreme it's like paying a VW the price of a Mercedes. Paying a Mercedes the price of a Mercedes is not overpaying.

- what you point out at the beginning of your post (different qualities, different places) is exactly what readers expect from this forum: to know how much they can pay for a given quality of girl in a given place. They are not interested in knowing how much other people overpay!

Because 1000-1500 ST and 1500-2000 LT feels unrealistic in the above mentioned 3 bars. Lets assume you're only interested in taking the better looking broads.

I've paid 3000 LT in Tilac before, but for Shark/Baccara 2000/4000 seems going rate although to be fair I haven't pushed really hard on price. Have tried in the past to cut 500 baht off but I don't put a lot of effort into this (similar to a previous poster who said he'd rather just skip a girl if they price high to start and be done with it).

I've seen several posts recently asking where you can get a massage after closing time in Bangkok (after 2-3am). I didn't realize until a few days ago that this is readily available along Soi 11 on the right-hand side when entering from Sukhumvit. You'll see many ladies asking if you want a massage and they're not freelancers but have signs indicating the massage shops behind them on the soi; this was true both over the past weekend and tonight on a Monday so it seems that it's available most/every night. If you've hit the club Climax at the Ambassador Hotel you probably walked too far from what I can tell.

I didn't partake though and can't vouch for the quality of the women or the massage, but at least the option exists on this street for those interested after closing time. Would love to get some feedback from anyone who has actually sampled the late night action.

[/QUOTE]From my experience ST/LT prices are very dependent on the specific lady in question -- some ask for outrageous LT prices, especially early in the night because they often are able to score 2-3 STs; but if they're free late in the night esp on a weeknight you can get a great deal.

I've paid 3000 LT in Shark several times and didn't have trouble negotiating that. In fact, a couple times this year with some real beauties I never discussed price and handed them a $100 USD bill the next morning and they were quite pleased (maybe that has changed slightly now given the baht's increasing strength vs the dollar!).

My guess is that expectations at Baccara are higher given the Japanese clientele and their willingness to be more price inelastic.
