I'll also second you on your comment about Cartagena not being the same ... actually all of Colombia.

Just got back from Medellin ... reminds me of San Jose, Costa Rica almost.
I congratulate Aussie and his companero on their Mansion there ... good guys ... however .... it sure opened the door to too many gringos ...

Looks like this dumb gringo (yo) is off to other, less traveled lands ... with an occassional stop in these now popular gringo hangouts.

I will spend some a weekend at the Las Americas hotel.

Any ides about some good girls in this are. I do not want to travel to much.

I speak some basic spanish.

I stayed with Mery last April and was also very pleased.

The apartment actually had a doorman to keep the girls OUT, or the Americans would be overwhelmed with chicas at the door. He just wasn't very good at it.

I suspect that the girls would be let in to see one guy, and when they were done, would knock on all the other doors on the way out, hoping to find someone else home.

I had several surprise knocks in my week there, at least one a day.

I had an elaborate system worked out with the doorman as to who to let in and when, so that my novia (who I saw every day for a week) would not come across the rest of my girls.

One time it was like the Keystone Kops, as I had him holding my favorite chica from LDV at bay, until I could get my novia and her sister and a friend out of my place.

But it all was for naught as another time I came back from the bathroom to find my novia looking at the photos on my camera. She got pissed as hell, accusing me of consorting with putas.

I was busted, so I pled guilty.

In the end she decided to forgive me.

She just needed to know that I loved her best.

I once stayed at the apartment complex right next door to Las Americas (Los Morros) - it's VERY far away from the action - Bocagrande and Laguito - but I liked that.

There are virtually no touts on the beach - and Las Americas has a great beach set-up. So if you are looking for a relaxing time on a virtually secluded beach, Las Americas is your place. I had a great time at Los Morros - but I was with my novia. When we wanted to go into the old city we'd take a taxi - it's about 20 minutes from there.

I will be heading to Cartagena for 2 weeks in February with my girlfriend. We enjoy 3-somes with other chicas and I was wondering if anyone can recommend any quality chicas in Cartagena?

Especially since you speak Spanish, you'll have no trouble finding willing chicas at La Dolce Vita in Laguito. I did the same thing when a chica from Medellin was visiting me three years ago. We hit LDV, and I let her choose.

Rather than trying to find any particular chica, just hit LDV after midnight any night.

A second option would be to hang around on the beach nearest LDV on Sat. and especially Sun. Sunday is the big beach day of the week.

I am reviewing this thread studying for my first mongering trip to Cartagena (been there once with the ex-wife).

Paisas
Cachacas
Costenas

By reading into the context, I think these are the different types of skin-tones of the chicas? Do I understand correctly?

Can someone translate what each one means for me? I would appreciate it.

Hope this helps:

Caleña = A female from Cali (mostly very dark mixed or black).
Paisa = A female from Medellin (mostly light skinned and blond).
Cachaca = A female from Bogota.
Costeña = A female from the Carribbean coast of Colombia (like Cartagena, Barranquilla).

So they are actually city-specific and regional designations rather than referring to skin type.

Thanks for the education. While I have mongered in Buenos Aires and absolutely love that city. I have a thing for Colombianas and really want to experience those chicas.

While I believe, from personal experience, that Medellin chicas are the hottest and will probably go there next year, it seems it's easier to find the chicas in Cartagena. And for my first trip for sex in Colombia, I kind of want easy-especially since I will be there for only 5 days before moving on to Buenos Aires.

To your question: you will probably get laid anywhere in Colombia depending on your spanish/charm/how many days you are staying, i.e. YMMV. For nonpros between cali and medellin it's a hair splitting choice. Girls in Cartagena are dark and are generally considered less attractive compared to those in other cities.
