What was noted here are agencies that make 100-200% and may rent flats owned by a private owner.

Nonsense. 30 €/day is maybe true in Chisinau, but not in Bucarest. And even in Chisinau, a nice 1 bedroom apartment, like the ones owned by Lilian at Decebal 23 (up Jumbo) was at 30 € two years ago and is now 50 €/day. Cost for short-term lodging is a problem of growing importance everywhere in EE.

I don't know since how long you haven't been in Bucuresti, but for your information, apartments in the nicest Centru neighborhoods (Cismigiu, Victoriei, Floreasca, Primaverii, ect) are currently sold up to 4000 € per square meter, and sometimes more. Even new constructions in gloomy commieblocks areas like Titan are DAMN expensive.

Nobody can doubt that soon a short-term furnished apartment in Bucarest will be at the same price level than in Kiev, SPb, ect.

I'm glad I got mine 6 or 7 years ago. $30,000 USD.

Prices are generally rising and nearly every Apt place I have used anywhere in the world has limited availability of cheaper flats. Just as a hotel chain will have few lower priced rooms. The business and tourism market depends on an ability to charge the highest prices possible.

After having many friends by mixing with locals everywhere i have been, they always seem to find the under-market that doesn't involve the highest margin agencies.

Just like folks walking up to you in Moscow or Kiev with cheap flats for rent.
Must admit, its not so easy and certainly not something most here might be able to do.

This said, a consideration that keeps many here from sharing very openly here is the prospect of getting flamed by someone who takes a different look at the same thing. So the more desirable way to share is just PM folks with the info to avoid a spat.

Outside of this, its simply not worth it to most otherwise. Finding cheap takes effort and work, so being you are going for fun or holiday or whatever. Its just opportunity cost.
