East China - Shanghai
I can confirm his mobile and wechat is shutdown / offline. Already ask 2 of the provider to contact him but can't go through.

One of his long time girls texted me.
Yep that's what we posted bellow:

Hotline dead for a week+.

Website down.

Girls with no news from SNG / no new business.

But I renew my question. Is it just an educated guess by your contact that he MAY have been arrested or is your contact (Cathy?) basing it on something solid / has info about the context of his arrestation?

If he was indeed arrested, then who took the site down? And how comes nothing has been said about it in the local media yet when you know how much they'd love to make the arrest of a foreigner doing bad business public.

I am sure we will know one way or another on Steven. . let the dust clear a little. I know Steven had an out plan but he may not have had a chance to enact it.

With SNG down and BP / Cracker is my only source, I will try to contact.

Will check out and report either one of them or both. If someone already have review for both please advise and share some info.

It's sad that SNG has been shutdown as I've been using that site for many years. Feel bad for Steven, Judy, etc. If they really got detained because they helped a lot of people throughout the years.

Anyways, I went to both Judy's and Manhattan's on 9/1 (Friday) at around 9 pm.

Noticed lots of independents wandering outside the streets. A couple police officers were monitoring Manhattans in their car. That kind of spooked me.

Anyways, when we went inside Manhattan's, there were barely any girls for some reason. Totally not like before where there were a ton of girls standing on the sides and everywhere.

Next, we went to Judy's which was much of the same.

Eventually someone approached me on the street and offered 1 hour for 1500 which I went for. Normally I would negotiate but I wasn't in the mood.

Service was pretty good, BBJ and Sex. Took about 30 min. Total then she left.

Miss the saunas and especially the cheap massages with happy endings. I used to buy the 5 k cards at Spring Massage which then gave me a nice discount for a 300 RMB massage + tip (sometimes depending on the girl). That was really nice as 1 k could get me 3 massages instead of going for one mediocre sauna experience.

If anyone knows of any safe places to go to for happy ending massages or independents, please PM me.

I saw a place on Kangding and Jiangning. They were calling me over like the old days but I dare not go in as I had never been there. I know that place has been around for many years though. Anyone ever been there?

Contacted some of my regulars working in bars, parlors, KTVs. Most of their shops were asked to shut down for 2 - 3 months. Some decided to leave Shanghai for a while, as there will be no business.
My contacts tell me Stephen has been arrested by the chinese police.
I thought he was really daring in the first place, showing his face on the website. Let's hope for the best.

Any further information about Judy's and Manhattan? Still open?

Good time to make sure all precautions in place. For instance, never use wechat account linked to your ID when dealing with these establishments.

I see some saunas are offering takeout to known customers. But I plan to sit out till after party congress.

One of my friends from Judy's is back in Saigon working in the food industry, her former profession. She would not tell me why but I suspect it was not voluntary. I did not hear from her for a few days and then she is in Vietnam and claiming she will not go back to Shanghai.

It seems that the situation is serious.

BP.
Oh no, don't make me crazy and nervous.

I will be in Shanghai mid of November, my worst fear is that until then every bar in SH will be swept out and the scene is dead / closed.

My plan is usually to visit Manhattan or Judy's and take one beauty out with me.

But if everything is increasing with crackdowns in the meanwhile there may be no more chance.

Has such situation been before already in Shanghai in former years? Does anyone know? And why is it actually like it is?

It has happened before this time of year but not to this degree. I am not sure I would try anything over there just now. Don't let the little head get you to jail.

You have one post on the forum and you spent 1500 Yuans for 30 minutes. Wow -talk about continuing to ruin the market rate for the rest of us. It seems the hysteria and fear mongering on the SH forum needs to take a breather and let the cooler heads prevail.

BP.
While current crackdown is undeniable, no reason to create hysteria. The Viet girls from Judy's and Manhattan are constantly returning home (and coming back).

This is a big party congress. Crackdown is proportionately big but we have no evidence it will be lasting.

Having said that, LE has never clamped down on private (non-pimped) arrangements, such as those between a man and woman at a bar. Also, SNG females appear still working privately. So there are options that LE is unlikely to care about. Focus in China is always on the businesses that profit directly.

Even in the USA, having a woman come to your apartment or hotel is relatively safe. LE only wants to hit the businesses, or lure Johns into their own traps.

Bottom line: Let's focus on facts and share info. Personally, I would not go into a sauna or illicit massage parlor at this time. But I'll work with known providers, or enjoy the game of trying to seduce legit massage therapists. Hopefully, saunas will be back.
