Cartagena Reports

Gentlemen,

I will be in Cartagena 01/18-01/30 and I've been having a tough time finding a hotel that is decent and cheap. I was planning on spending only $40-50 USD on a room (yeah, I know I'm a miser), so it looks like an apartment might be my best bet. If I can't find an apt, I might stay at hotel Da Pietro. If anyone has a contact for an apartment or hotel recommendation, a PM would be appreciated. I have a couple girls lined up from the net that I plan on meeting. I'm planning on chasing the amateurs, but will also do some mongering too. If anyone wants to meet up for a beer, let me know. I'm 30, pretty laid back, and my Spanish is dreadful! Any of you guys have any tips/luck with the amateurs? Elpapiblanco

BellDude local girls generally have dark features. If you met a white girl she was probably from Medellin/Bogota/etc but not from the coast, right? Everyone has their preferences.

Could someone please let me know how close the Hotel Charlotte is to the Marina and LDV?

comparison on the pros and cons of both and their personal choice as place to retire.

What Marina? If you mean the tourist pier, it's maybe 10-12 blocks.

Sean, Baranquilleras are generally pretty white as well.

Papi, the Da Pietro is fine for the budget traveller. I'll be in MDE while you are in town.

I know LDV is next to a casino near El Laguito but what street is it on? I am planning my trip and have a map of Cartagena and want to know the street so I know the general area where I want my apartment to be?

My friends and I are debating on having a bachelor party in BAQ or CTG. There will be 12 of us. I have looked at the lists and the posts. However, I need some help. How can we compare Lusitania with LDV?Which one has more girls. Also, how is the playboy club? Is it simliar to a srtip club in the US? We have rented apartments and could also have it at our residence. Please send reply asap. Baq or CTG. If any one knows of some females who do parties and are hot. Please give me the 411.

Full agree with LP. Lusitania is a brothel with on-side facilities with been 15 and 20 girls. LDV is like a regular club, except that all the girls there are hookers. Generally, you will find between 40 and 60, depending which day and what time you go. Pleyboy, I don't know (never been there). No contest, go to CTG. Much easier.

Also with that large of a crew check out renting a few Penthouses, look for TOM 33 post, he has listed a Juan Ventura as a guy to see. My first time using the guy will be in a few weeks but TOM 33 lives in CTG so he knows the in and outs. For a bachelor party I think LDV would be a lame choice. Now if none of Flyjets group speaks good Spanish, BAQ could be a challenge BUT for a bachelor party you want strippers and sexy entertainment. That does NOT occur at LDV.
There are no full on US style strip clubs in Colombia where lapdances are the norm. The closest would be clubs in BOG, MDE and CLO. Nothing on the coast is that organized IMHO.

A better idea, IMHO, would be to have the party at an apartment and hire a bunch of girls to come in and perform. SOMEBODY should go in advance to audition them. As I will pass through CTG for at least a night or two on the way elsewhere within the next 10 days, I offer to undertake the task. My fees are very reasonable (actually I'd do it just for the fun of it!). Seriously, Flyjets, I can talk to some people in CTG to arrange several honeys for your party. PM me (soon) if interested.
