Now take into consideration these recommendations fall under killing time.
You can go to Bar do Mané in the Mercado Municipal and have a chopp (draft beer), the famous mortadella sandwich and the pastels. It's not the best market in the world and it can be a bit touristy, but it is a fun diversion. There are other restaurants there as well. Săo Bento metro is a short walk from the market.
I've walked around Japantown in Liberdade and grabbed some Japanese food for lunch. You might catch a street market. There are some cute Asian mix girls working in the stores.

I did have MASP, Mercado Municipal and Praca Benedito Calixto on the list but thought to minimize because of the current situation. Having said that, SP is in the green zone right now and I'm hoping it would get better by December.
