Bogota Reports

With Bogotá having almost three times as many inhabitants as Medellin (6.8 million vs 2.3 million), I find it somewhat intriguing that the Medellin subforum here has almost twice as much traffic.

Does this mean that Medellin gets twice as many tourists?

Does Bogota have three times as large of a P4P scene?

What keeps folks away from Bogota? Weather? Cost? Expansiveness of the city?

Personally, I've been to both cities and heading back to Bogota again later this month. I tend to give an edge to Bogota primarily because it is more of a cosmopolitan city comprised of Colombians from all over Colombia with the added bonus of many foreigners living there. There is a greater selection of international cuisines, cultural activities and having businesses in finance, Bogota's is Colombia's financial epicenter.

As a general rule, when I vacation, mongering or not, I want to go to a place with weather least as good as where I come from, if not better (and I live in CA). So no way I'm going to Bogota, despite what it has to offer. I spent 3 hours in the Bogota airport and I remember getting a little light headed from the altitude also. Makes it harder to hit the ground running. When I go someplace, spending lots of money to get there, I want to take clothing off, not put it on! (chicas and skiiing aside).

I prefer hot and humid over cool/cold any day. But that's me.

I'm not putting down Bogota in any way, just prefer nicer climates.

actually on a per capita basis, Bogota is much safer than MDE, especially for foreigners since Bogota experiences a much higher percentage of business travellers.

I think most people prefer the weather in Medellin and apparently the girls are considered better-looking, but both of those are subjective. The typical Paisa look isn't what turns me on, I prefer girls with a little more junk in the trunk :P and personally I LOVE Bogota's weather. I hate the heat.

As for crime, no way in hell Medellin is safer than Bogota. Both cities were a lot more dangerous 10 years ago but Medellin has always had more crime. In both cities though, everybody freaks out over the major crimes like homicides and kidnappings, but really you should put your energy into watching out for the petty crimes which are much more prevalent, like having your pocket picked or your bag snatched.

So what is a good hotel which is Chica friendly. Last time I stayed a Casa Dann Carlton and they didn't let anyone not registered at the time of checking in after 9 pm. Any good recommendations?

I have pretty much been lurking here on the Colombia reports for 3 weeks, I am finally on my way later on today. I didn't really want to post anything because I did not have any information to share, but after this weekend, I will have plenty.

A little about myself (I think everyone should do this to get a better feel on how their experience was and how another person can get a better understanding of how they can fall and share the same experience):

I'm 22 y/o, 6'2, half Ecuadorian half Dominican, a lot of people think I'm African American, live in the nation's capitol, speak spanglish and kind of shy :) Peru is my usual mongering spot, but I decided to check Colombia out.

I've pretty much read every page on Bogotá here and I am going to try to hit a lot of good places. I have already started by arranging dates from ladies online. A good place for you guys to check out is Hi5.com. Kind of like myspace.com but a lot of latinos from central and south america are on it, from all age ranges too! I sent out a shit load of messages, and got a pretty good response. I narrowed my picks down to 6 and I know I am going to have to cut that down because I'm only in Bogota for 3 days. I have one of them picking me up from the airport!

If anyone wants to hang out on Friday night, let me know, I'm definitely down for some tag teaming. Reports and pics to cum! I hope these ladies can handle a big slice of meat inside them!

Closest one I know to the airport, apart from the motels, is the Forte. But for a few hours kip its prob hard to beat the motels.

hey there can anyone recommend a taxista in Bog? Also what is the going rate per hour if I need a taxi for 5-6 hours to drive me around town? Thanks.
