You need to read my post again if that's what you got out it. Because you are way off. I know that 50 - 100 k is an average tip. With 100 being a 'nice' tip. That's what I said.

I told the newby, it's nothing wrong with giving a 'nice' tip for good service. Then I explained, in a nice way without being a jerk, that 100 k is a 'decent' tip. And that 200 k would be considered a 'great' tip. In other words, trying to let him know what a decent tip is in Jakarta so he can make his own adjustments. Get it now?

When I first walked in I was latched onto by a lady old enough to be my grandmother who was truly a pain in the butt. I just couldn't shake her off. Eventually some younger ladies came to my aid and I ended up hooking up with a decent prospect who valued my personal space. Details of the evening replicates most reports from CJ's ladies here on this forum. Nothing different from me I'm afraid.

They are usually very close to XL rate for large amounts of say $800 US or more. If you say best it means you want their best price. They are pretty good because they know their competition is two doors down.

The concept of deposit seems pretty widespread in Jakarta if you are sourcing ladies on twitter or even facebook. Has anybody got any success stories using this system? Or failure stories?. Certainly facebook seems to have a few sad sack posts of those who have paid DP and got nothing but the #jakartaangels or #bisyarjakarta, #bispakjakarta seem to be predominantly deposit girls. There must be some order to the system.

Grateful if I can get any more recommendations for places close by. Would prefer a spa / massage / fishbowl type placed as opposed to pick up bars as I don't want to risk taking any women to my hotel (colleagues staying at the same place).

The Hyatt across the road has a bar called Burgundy, which is frequented by WG's. Don't try to pick up the customer srervice girls who work there, they are not P4 P. If you go there the WG's will find you.

I'm not sure what else is around there, there used to be some places not far but I think they have gone. There are plenty of bars in the mall attached, Paulaner is great for beer and food, but none of the bars have WGs.

But you have a straight shot up Thamrin (which changes its name to Jalan Hayam Wuruk as you proceed north) to Malioboro / Malio Club and Illigals, the former being the more popular. Depending on time of day and traffic the trip would take somewhere between 15 minutes and 45 minutes by taxi. Alexis is further north than Malioboro or Illigals, and only worth the added trip if you want to visit the most expensive brothel (at least among those easily accessible to the general public) in Jakarta; actually there may be one or two others owned by the same group that are equally expensive although I'm not sure about this.

My recommendation would be to first try Malioboro and perhaps Malio Club immediately next door (further in the complex), and if that doesn't work for you (or you have extra time) Illigals (which is rather close to Malioboro) and / or Alexis.
