Hope you had a great Birthday GE. I really appreciate all of the advise you provide on the board and while I was in Davao. To bad we kept missing each other while while I was there, hope to meet you in person next trip.

DS is 100 percent correct about Pinays and chocolate. I always hit Wall-mart or the local grocery store and buy about 20 of the big bars before each trip. The cost is only about $1.00-1.75 each. (trust me, you will never find a higher rate of return on your $1 investment).

Usually if I have a first date with a girl and she brings her friend I take them for lunch at the mall. I spend about $10 for the three of us. At the end of the date I hand each girl a candy bar and tell them what a great time I had. The girls leave with a big smile on their face and you know the chaperon is going to be telling your date how "kind" you are.

Just make sure you keep the extra chocolate hidden when the girl is visiting your room the next evening.

I must elaborate on another angle to the festival issue. Yes, it is immensely annoying with all the people BUT there are opportunities in province girls coming in to town for these festivals. You can basically walk anywhere and just talk up the girls that stares at you. Davao a few years ago meant a lot of stares, but today not so much unless you are retarded, ugly or quite handsome. When the country folks hit town for Kidapawan you are still like the bearded lady in the circus.
Pick your targets correct and you will for sure have one or two provincial girls in your bed that night. I am not saying it is hard when ther is NOT a festival. My point is that it is even EASIER to pick up bored girls when these pointless occasions of people wandering aimlessly around Davao occurs. Just check in to your hotel before the psychosis starts and make sure you do not try to transfer in the middle of the worst "festival highlights".

I think I have to agree with Dragon Slayer re. 'budgeting' in the Philippines-specifically Davao. I've spent the best part of the last two years here. And averaging out expenses etc, I don't get much change out of 100k pesos every month.

And I am not into fine dining. Not in the Philippines anyway. If you have a live-in gf you may face expenses such as university/college fees etc. Her family will invariably coming calling at some stage with 'a crisis'. Even though I am currently without a live-in, still not much change out of 100K. Mind you I pretty well do what I want and have as much pussy as I can handle (normally 3 different friends a week) associated costs for pussy are not so much in the pay for fuck category, but presents, throwing birthday parties. Maybe helping occasionally with some business financial support. You get the picture.

Additionally, dental, medical costs, visas, unforseen local bullshit, it all costs money.

Undoubtedly you could live like a pauper here on a lot less. And get into the street walker crowd for your fun. But it would be a sad existance. I prefer educated women, or legit students who are conservative in public, but turn into absolute *****s in your room. LOL.

Yep, Davao is a nice city. I'm in no hurry to go elsewhere.

I just read GoodEnough's post from yesterday on the Cagayan de Oro board. He sounds a little depressed. This will pass quickly.

A major advantage that Davao has is the significant number of Foreigners here that are working or have their own established businesses. Many own restaurants and provide a decent place to meet with other friends or dine out and be able to talk to people with whom you have something in common sides the fact that you are a foreigner living in a foreign land.

As long as I avoide the dumps where the lowlifes hang out and keep to decent places like De Bonte Koe, Cafe de Ville and Farfallas I can sit with a lady or Rose or one of the other two mothers and my children and have a fun time. This is NOT the case in Cebu City. I have to go to Clubs and Restaurants full of Filipino-Chinese who are decent people but keep to their own kind. Any of the Expat hangouts are full of disgusting, lowlifes and it is impossible to go in to eat or hangout having a drink withour them approaching.

A few months back in Cebu I took my son, his mother and my older sister to the little Cafe in front of my Hotel. I have been going here for years but it has in the evening become a "drunk tank" for unemployed, heavy smoking/drinking men from the US, Australia and the EU. It has gotten so bad that I had to stop going in there for fear I would end up seriously injuring one of these creatures. One apprached our table, totally wasted, as we were eating. Oblivious to the fact that we did NOT want this fat, ugly fuck bothering us, he began making comments about my size, my son and kept shaking my hand.

I knew the guy was a drunk pig so I tried to humor him. He went on to try to touch my Son who moved away from him. I had to calmly tell him to stop as my Son did not want to be touched. He went on to give me his life story, sad as could be, considering he was 39, 150lbs overweight, alcoholic and heavy smoker. Serious canidate for a heart attack. He wrote down his CP# and E-mail Address for me while trying to get mine which I refused to provide. When he finally left my Son's mother commented, "disgusting man, I hate him". I explained how given his state of total intoxication, I felt the best thing to do was humor him and get him to go as quickly as possible, avoiding an incident. She wanted me to "drop the drunk like the bad habit he was".

In Davao City we can be thankful for having decent places to go and, given strictly enforced No Smoking Laws, if we stay inside we avoid any of the lowlifes that do occasionally come by and remain at outdoor tables. Plus, that crowd will never venture inside Farfallas, Cafe de Ville, Entree', MP Bistro Restaurant or De Bonte Koe. They would have to spend money. Not a chance!

Besides an abundance of beautiful, young pussy, Davao has other advantages. A great place to visit and live.

How much you spend here, depends, to a large extent on how you want to live and of course on where you want to/can afford to live. I agree with Steve Dunstone, that it's difficult to live in a certain style for less than Php100, 00 a month, but then where in the States or Europe could you live that well for slightly more than $2, 000 a month?

Ds, I would really like to attend. Sounds like a great event. I put a little hope in immigration in Manila that is finally stamping my passport with my SVEG visa after 3 years of being qualified. If they are slow enough I will have to rebook my ticket home and I just have to stay an extra week.

If however no "unforeseen circumstances" like this occurs I am afraid it would not fall well at all if I extend my stay in Asia further.

I had a date set that was supposedly going to have you still in Davao. But this will not be the case. I will again miss my Son, Daniel's birthday in two weeks. Too much work and, with three children so far, I need the money. My inheritance was supposedly to be enough to keep all of us (brothers/sisters) "set for life". Right! My remaining two much older sisters (one is dead) have lost or squandered their entire inheritance, more than they could ever earn in their lives given the pathetic work ethic they set for themselves. My younger brother does not need his and most likely has kept it. Mine is invested and I do not think about it (think of it and you spend it).

But have to consider what happens if I become incapacitated. I was ill a couple years age and took two months resting to recover. Now, fitter than in the last 20 years, I am also looking at the "Long Range Picture". This is the long way of saying I return in May.

GoodEnough and his woman want to join me and M_____ (former dancer in CDO Club) in Makati for a weekend when I arrive. GE finds my Baby both beautiful and charming, especially after her calling him to wish him a Happy Birthday (none of the 3 Mothers could be bothered,upsetting me quite a lot). He told me her meeting him at his Greenbelt Hotel that evening to pickup some items from me for her, resulted in a lot of comments from "various individuals" concering the "Beautiful, Young Lady" in the designer, silk dress, with whom he met in the Private CLub. See as many as possible this May. To be noted is that when I met Barba, it was the first time in two years that I met anyone from the ISG Boards and only the 14th individual ever. Almost all that I met were during the initial period 2003-2004. If you were to review the old Davao Board during that time period you would most likely realize why I ceased meeting anyone in person. Times change and, fortunately, sometimes for the better.

Work a lot now. Had, for me, a very unusual experience. I rarely receive gifts of any kind from anyone. Today, I meet for lunch with an NFL Football Player and his wife. I am complaining about working too much and doing little else. The Wide Receiver reaches into a bag and as he removes something says, "we thought this might help you cheer you up". Inside a case was a genuine $ 400 dollar ballpen.

I love pens and usually end up wearing a cashmere suit, silk tie and white cotton oxford shirt and writing with a 29 cent ballpen. Looks tacky but this is how it works out. They heard me once comment on how I wanted to someday splurge on an extremely elegant Pen, when I can afford it. So I usually take an assortment of individual boxed truffles for new friends and seasonal gift boxes for my regulars. But I'd be willing to bet - as DS says - that they'd be much more excited over a crappy Hershey's bar.

Decent chocolate melts easily in tropical weather, too, so I am doubly foolish.

I read an article titled, "Ten things that can impede your sperm" or some such nonsense. I can attest to a few of them: drinking, overweight, diet; the others like drugs and smoking I never indulged in these. But since reducing my alcohol consumption by 90%, completely changing my diet and losing 60lbs, I have had the resulting "inconvenience" of being much too fertile. And filipinas have absolutely no fucking idea concerning birth control and a fear of anything to do with it. As to condoms, I use them with the pros and have also used them with regular, young chinese girls. Broken through quite a few and "lost" a few more inside the chinese lady. Most likely they are married now, at least until she takes off for Chicago where Elaine is hiding out, avoiding deportation, while looking for some DUMB SCHMUCK to marry her so she can get permanent status (first marriageis essentially a sham marriage as the guy was terminally ill and senile at time and it lasted only a couple months, far less than the two year requirement).

Getting in good physical condition does have its pitfalls. And as to fixing up someone with a filipina, this is TOTALLY INSANE!

You make a good point. Had a chat with a girl I know from the UAE now back in CDO.
