Skimming through your posts you have been around South East Asia. You will be just fine. You are the boss in all situations, don't need to take any crap from any girl. There are so many, if one gives you grief, show her the door. Be polite but firm on pricing, walk away from the ones trying to play you like a sucker.

Stay away from the loud dance club places, try out BATS your first night and then branch out from there.

Following through on his campaign promise, it has just been announced that the new governor of Jakarta has not renewed Alexis' business license, effectively closing it as of last Saturday.

Whether Alexis is actually closing down remains to be seen, but with all the attention in the media I doubt even they are going to flaunt the rules so blatantly for a very long period.

I had lunch with the guy who owns Malioboro once many years ago. I know he said he also had King Cross and Stadium, but I am honestly not sure about Alexis. I do know girls who used to work at Alexis who now work at Malioboro. Alexis for some reason is the most high profile place in Jakarta. It's not surprising they would go after it. However, it would be surprising if they do close it and a definite disappointment. If they did close Alexis, I would expect those girls to move to the other places.

Having done some work for these groups in the past here's what I was advised for invoicing purposes last year.

It will be interesting to see how the Jakarta Entertainment Consortium lobby the local government on this loss of earnings, kickbacks and jobs.
