I wanted to share with you a comprehensive list of what I've learned over the years while engaging in this hobby. It goes without saying that these pointers are based on my experiences and opinions alone, so you can disagree with some of the stuff and you probably heard some of it a million times already. Hopefully some of what I say is helpful for others.
1. Use a burner phone or at the very least, a dual sim phone with a sim-card that you only use for this hobby. Even low end smartphones are dual sim these days and it should still be possible to get a sim-card from re-seller kiosks scattered around the island without the need to register it. Avoid going to cell carriers directly as they tend to make you register the number.
2. Only carry the exact amount of cash you agreed to pay the escort beforehand and perhaps a tip if you really like the escort. This will minimize your losses in the unlikely event that you get robbed.
3. Remember that most if not all escorts prefer cash in hand and not crypto-currency, so anyone asking for crypto or other form of online payments is most likely a thief. Never ever pay a single euro before you meet. Paying in advance is a sure fire way to get scammed.
4. Even if the escort is genuine, I would advise against using payment systems like revolute as they would know your name. If someone offers to give you cash in exchange for revolute cash, politely decline or say that you don't use it. Again you don't want your name to be known and it might be considered as money laundering, which can get you into legal trouble. One escort actually asked me for this favour and I replied that I never used revolute.
5. When meeting someone for the first time, always go for the 30 min slot if available, that way if the service is lousy, you only spent half of what you would have normally spent if you usually go for an hour. Only if the woman was real and has given you a satisfactory service, should you go for an hour or more in the next meeting. I had one escort insist on a 1 hour minimum and I declined.
6. Just because a profile is verified, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will meet with the actual person. They can get a profile verified and then change pictures or buy a profile from another genuine escort with a good reputation. There is no way of avoiding this and if it happens to you my suggestion is to walk away without paying if it is safe. There was one time where I left a good review on a profile, only for it to be used by someone else and a negative review showed up later accusing me of being a fake reviewer. Luckily some of the escort sites allow you to delete reviews. So if you leave a positive review and it is abused, simply delete it.
7. Fake positive reviews are a thing on the escort sites. They require very little proof when posting a positive review, but if you post a negative review it will likely be blocked or you will have to provide proof of your bad encounter via screenshots. If a review is fake, you can normally tell by the over use of praise and the same pattern used across multiple profiles. The wording would sometimes feel robotic and forced. If it feels off to you then perhaps choose another escort.
8. This simply could be me, but I suspect that a small number of the adverts are post op trans women pretending to be real women. I know that some women will have masculine looking traits and it is hard to tell with the use of filters and photoshop. I don't have any advice on what to do apart from use your own judgement and it is best to err on the side of caution.
9. If they are only showing the top part of their bodies in the pictures, it could mean that they are hiding something, such as a large belly. Depending on your tastes this can be a problem and you would end up with an unpleasant surprise. This happens all the time on dating apps too. Almost if not all adverts use airbrushed pictures and postures to enhance certain features and / or hide less desirable areas. One common trick is to make their breasts seem larger using photoshop or push-up bras.
10. If in doubt you can ask for a video call or for a picture showing a specific hand gesture. With the rise of AI tools this may soon not be reliable anymore but for the time being AI generated videos or images are easy to spot. Obviously a large percentage of the escorts will refuse to do this, especially if the profile is unverified. From my experience the reasons would be that they are older / heftier than the pictures or completely fake. There were instances where an escort would refuse to video call, only to get a negative review from someone else complaining that she was a fake.
11. If an escort delays the meeting walk away and do not visit again or at the very least wait for a few days before attempting another meeting. It is likely that they double booked and the other client would be a regular who gets preference. This happened to me on both sides of the coin, a few times I got preference as a regular and on other occasions I was told to wait because of "delays". There can be genuine cases but they would be few and far between, if more and more of us walk away, they will stop this double booking nonsense. If they start annoying you on the phone with texts and calls to please come back, simply block and move on. You can have a set limit such as 15 min or 30 min which would be acceptable delay for you. If escorts throw a hissy fit when you are a few minutes late and expect punctuality, then I expect the same from them.
12. When using google reverse image search to figure out if the photos were ripped off another site, I found out that the best results are obtained when you drag the image and drop it into the image search bar. Right clicking on the image and selecting google lense isn't as good. The drag and drop method gives better results. Sometimes they will slightly modify images such as blurring the face to try and fool search tools but such tools get better every day. I had instances where an image would return zero results on one day and a week later it would find the website from where the image was taken from. If you find the images on some porn site or an escort currently in another country, that is a big red flag. I've lost count of how many fakes I've spotted using this method. Even supposedly verified profiles tend to do this.
13. Another way to do a profile investigation is to google the phone number. Use the phone number with and without the international prefix. Another way is using the international prefix but remove the + symbol or put a space between the prefix and the number. You will be surprised at what some of these different combinations can result in. If you find that more than one profile uses the same phone number and the persons on the adverts look completely different than that is a huge red flag. It can mean fakery or multiple women working at the same location.
14. Another tell-tale sign that the profiles are probably fake or that there are multiple women working in the same building is to check the last updated time. If the wording of several profiles is similar and they were all updated within a few minutes of each other, you can be almost sure that one person is editing all of them. Sometimes they are so lazy that they will use the same bedroom or balcony when taking the profile pictures. I avoid locations with too many escorts, even if they seem to be real deal. You don't want to get caught in an occasional police bust-up.
15. When looking at the photos of an advert, check for obvious markers that they were taken in Malta and not some other country. Obvious sings are the power outlets (should be British), local bottled water brands and typical Maltese apartment finishing. If the photos were taken at a beach, see if you can recognize the area. A caveat to the power outlet tip is that other countries such as Malaysia and Singapore use them so it's not full proof. The more local items you could find in the photos, the more likely the woman is the one who you will meet.
16. Look out for recent fashion trends in the pictures to determine if they are recent or not. For instance there was a trend where they would wear rainbow coloured fishnet dresses. If you can spot these clues it is likely that the pictures were recent. Sometimes it would be clear that the pictures are old due to lower camera quality or a lack of prominent buildings / tower cranes in the background if the pictures were taken outside in popular areas.
17. There can be instances where an unverified profile is of a real person and for whatever reason they never bothered with getting the profile verified. I had a good experience with an unverified profile and I took the risk because the pictures looked to be recent and taken locally.
18. If takes several minutes for their whatsapp profile to receive your message (double check mark shows this) it could mean that they have a poor internet connection which can result in you waiting outside for several minutes like a moron, not because you were double booked or the woman was ignoring you, but they had a poor connection.
19. If the price seems to be lower than the usual, even if the escort is decent looking, expect to be asked for extra payments when you meet her, even if she says that all is included in the price. The profile name is Selena, working in St Julians and shows a very busty woman.
I suspect that it is fake due to these reasons:
The name on whatsapp is different than that on EGE.
Prices asked are different on whatsapp. She wanted €200 for 1 hour while the add says €150. Extras listed as €30 on the add but are €50 on whatsapp.
The pics can easily be found using google image search and seem to taken from a Romanian escort who is working in Italy at the moment.

I ended up spending a few more months in Malta. This is what I learned.
There first appears to be many options, until you narrow things down. A lot of girls come and go or just stay for a few months. Avoid profiles with phone numbers in Asia etc.
Slavic. Some good, some bad. A lot are older than their profiles (10 + years older) and not from the country listed in their profile. West Slav's were slightly more easy going.
Colombians. Mostly poor experiences, and I would recommend only taking a Colombian if she has a good review.
