Checked the situation re visas for kaliningrad, and it appears that visas are not issued, on the land border crossing between poland and the Russian enclave of kaliningrad.

So for UK and UK citizens, a visa must be obtained from the Russian embassies, with the usual hotel and lodgings pre bookings.

The best and cheapest way from the uk, would be to fly from london to Gdansk in poland, and a catch a bus from there.

How would you get to Kaliningrad?

Do you have alternative routes?

I have done most of Eastern and central europe including Belarus, which is quite easy and reasonable now to get to from london on one of the budget airlines flying to vilinus lithuania, and then on by bus.

Sorry, one more question. How do costs compare, between Belarus, ukraine one the one hand, and transdinister on the other?

I'm a fresh user in the Forum, I'm a 35 year old boy from north Italy and I'm not new in mongering and hunting as I travelled (job or pleasure) in many countries in eastern europe. I was for 6 months in bucarest for a trainship in 2006 and in that period had the chance to spend 10 days also in Moldova (chisinau and edinet) but I will soon write a report about all this in his proper thread.

Well as I'm free this month I have decided to go in PMR. So I need some information from you please:

Borderland talked about a BROTHEL outside Tiraspol where a girl that he fucked was working and she gave him a card too, so where is it and how to reach it?

Borderland said that he met the second girl that he fucked in the bar of AIST HOTEL, so were she there occasionally or it is possible to find semi-prof and prof there?

Girls are available at any disco in Tiraspol, specially at Plazma, young 18-20 y.o. just ask the director or the owner.

I just wonder how you think to get there… and get home… It’s not so safe as it might seem if you do not have a local government or Russian coverage…

Of course its full of all you need nice young girls, acceptable hotel rooms, but I do not know the brothel… may be it’s Mr. Smirnov’s own! :)

I was in MD a couple of weeks ago and did the customary visit to Tiraspol with a stop off at Bendery on the way, Bendery was great club called "city" drinks etc etc as usual V V V V Cheap and the fact your not from there goes along way with the very hot ladies there, me and a friend rented an appt in bender for $35 usd a night was not teh ritz but not a shithole in any sence of the word.

Tiraspol is well..., tiraspol what i can i say the old rules still apply re: plazma but if you want a bit of adventure in this VERY SAFE neck of the woods give bendery a try.

Rates are $40 ST at least that is what i paid......, i was there 3 days so did not have a chance to do too much investigation back on the 9th of Feb and planning on spending a week so will post then

$4o ST, is not all that cheap, but ofcourse it depends on, how Short is ST there?.

how much time did you spent for registration in Bender/Tiraspol ?
And how did you find an appartment ?
Want to go to TMR in beginning of March, for a few days, instead of Chisinau, just because of curiosity.

I have been there a few times, but only for a few hours always, no overnight stay. Was afraid how to handle registration because for transit officially I am allowed to stay only for 10 hours in PMR.
Having a German registered car in UA (Nikolaev), I need to export it from UA every 2 months because of customs regulations. But I can come back a few hours later to UA again and start the 2 month game again.
Standard procedure for every expat in UA having a foreign registered car.
