Siem Reap

Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm just looking for clarification as I've read conflicting things. I've taken a last minute trip to Siem Reap (I'm in SR now) so it has been a rushed study of the forum online, so forgive me as I've probably missed something.

The various small bars dotted along Sok San road with ladies. Am I correct that not many of them can be taken out of the bar? I think people have mentioned that some are drinks only? I'm a simple creature and would prefer these bars over the louder clubs etc but not if the ladies cannot be barfined. If some of them can and some of them can't, that would be good to know so that I can approach drinks / chats accordingly.

One of my 'go to' sources for quick and dirty info is Redcat, but they say that there are no 'girlie bars' in SR other than Mickeys and a couple of others, but I'm here having walked past a number of Thai beer bar-style bars that would seem to suit. I know, I should have gone in, but I'd like to understand exactly what and what isn't available here.

Ask a taxi or a Rixa fellow and he will take you to a dance bar or a pick up joint- there were only two such places for foreigners I was told then, there a line up is shown to you and once you select, you can take them with you to your hotel (they will follow you on their sooty generally). In one of the places, there were rooms also. We did visit such bars but found of no use for pick up of girls.
