Returning to town
Gents,
I will be making my return to Patong in about 2 weeks. It's been about 15 years since I was there last! Can't wait. I have RTFF back about a year. I have not found a good consensus on recommended hotels. I would like one with a pool and obviously girl friendly. I would like to keep the cost down as well. Someone recommended the Yorkshire to me but it does not have a pool all though you can use one 50m down the street. Any other suggestions? I will be making reservations very soon so any help would be appreciated and if you are in town, I will buy you a beer as well!

Thenoop
Royal Paradise hotel in Patong would be a good choice for U. The hotel has several pools (one large one, and two small ones). It's also girl-friendly. Relatively close to Soi Bangla. Only aobut a 15 minute walk away. If you are looking to spend less money, then Patong Villa is another option. Very close to Soi Bangla. Only about a 5 minute walk away. Girl friendly hotel, friendly reception staff. But hotel pool is only OK (a bit small). Good luck.

Average Long time rate
Anyone, I am in Phuket and doing quite a bit of partying on Bangla. On average I am paying girls 2000 LT and most of them are 7-8/10.
Is this a good deal.

Thenoop
The Yorkshire is a good choice. It is very close to Bangla Road. The walk to the beach is easy. The Yorkshire is on a road called Soi Sansabai and is full of FL's after the other bars and clubs close. The food is acceptable. Unless you ugrade, the rooms are on the small side without a view.
The Sea Sun Sand Resort is not bad. It is girl friendly. There is a pool. The rooms are larger with an outside view. The location is not bad and is only slightly farther away from the nighttime action.

Thenoop
I have stayed at the Yorkshire several times over the years. Staff service is adequate in the restaurant and house keeping. The rooms are small and do not have a very good view unless you get one of the front rooms or an upfront apartment.
The Sun Sand Sea Resort would be a better alternate IMO, for room size, and room rates. A pool and restaurant are on the premises. This resort was guest friendly with no joiner fee when I visited in October.

Cheap Room Rates
Have a go at www.latesstays.com.
They sound like what you need to see.

Correct last post.
I would edit but I guess I'm in Moddie. Kinda like a girl being on the rag.
It is www.latestays.com and I just checked. Wow there are lot's of places open with Songkran and all I'm supprised. No problem with room. Anoher thing you can do is print out the latestays list with the prices. Now, all the taxi drivers from the airport try to hustle you into a hotel are stop at a travel agent on the way to Patong! They get great rates and possibly you can beat www.latestays.com but they are really cheap!

Phuket Hotels
Rather than trawl though all the threads can anyone reccomend a good hotel to me in Phuket with the following:
1. On the beach with pool.
2. Very close to the action and bars.
3. GF.
4. Up to a max of around 2,000 Baht per night.
I will be travelling from Dubai arriving on the 1st of May if anyone fancies a beer and a mooch around.
Any help greatly appreciated links etc.

Rico's and other places
Has anyone ever stayed at Rico's Hotel?
The location looks amazing. The website looks good too, but it's small and you can't tell enough.
I am RTFF extensively and putting together a short list of hotels. I'm looking for a clean place with some positive character, obviously GF. Looking between 1000B and 2250B per night. If a place was great I'd pay more. But I'd rather stick in this range, as it appears there are good options.
It also appears that the VAST majority of your discussions focus on Patong. That's not surprising, but I am surprised that there aren't a LITTLE more options in Kata etc.
I've only stayed on Patong. I stayed at the Holiday Inn last time, but that was Pre-Tsunami. I'm looking forward to Christine's again, I hope it's not too far down hill now. (While on the subject, did someone say they're not a Soapy now, that would be terrible).
Also, is there any reason there isn't a dedicated Phuket Hotel forum?
I was just going to ask about Rico's but apparently once the questions start coming they just flow. :)

Average Long time rate
2000 LT not a good rate. The maximum price for beautiful girls working in bars is 1000 ST/ 1500 LT, plus barfine. I can tell you there are happy to get this price and want to see you again. Of course, they often try to get 2000. It's cheaper late in Discos.

Banana Disco
Sorry if I answer late to previous posts. I was busy for some time. About Banana, one members says there are more men than girls. Maybe it's sometimes like that. What you forget is that many are young guys who have little money to spend for girls, and the girls know it. I also agree there are many girls outside. It just depends if you like dancing or not, I guess. It's not the best disco in Thailand, but there isn't much more in Patong Beach.

I saw the website too. Looks pretty decent. I'm thinking of staying there next week too. Right now I'm up in Chiang Mai for the Songkran festival. It's pretty nuts up here!
