Guys,

Sundays between 3pm and 8-9pm in wan chai is definately maid's day. Laguna, New Makati, Boracay, Neptunes, Fenwicks (Laguna and New makati are heaving). I would say the vast majority are maids. A few what I refer to as Semi-pros (maids out for additional cash).

How beautiful they are. How long is a piece of string? It is to each their own. The only drama is when you pick, it is easy to get a butterfly reputation. Also, from what I have seen, there seem to be quite a few that are a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket (as in a bit loco).

Guys have fun, the only thing I am curious about is. Who the hell has the time to go to the "provinces" to go get your maid? You get a maid to cook and clean and be honest (you hope) around your house. I personally like the older ones who make my home sparkling clean and give me that motherly reminder to pick up my own condom wrappers before she comes over.

By the way, Sunday has an all day happy hour at the bridge for ladies so once you find a nice girl at one of your other locations you can bring her over to the bridge and have her drink for free and you can have a chat up in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Take care guys. I personally don't care who of you can cmpete or not compete for girls or where the hell you get your maid or how you make your woodchuck squeal. Let's just have a good time of it.

Not everyone uses ATM cards or wants to use one. People like me use hard cash or travelers checks (which I get for free and only use in Japan for a 1 yen differential) and adore playing with monopoly money. I have done big studying for exchange areas in Hong Kong and find the NGAU KEE MONEY CHANGER CO., LTD at 1 Cleverly Street on Hong Kong Island gives the absolute best rate, cash-for-cash. The difference is in the 10th of a percentage point range. Example if the HKD is 7.75 to the USD, they will be 7.72 selling at 7.76. The ~.03 difference I could care less about. They are only opened M-S 9-5, closed Sunday. They are next to about 4 other competitors on the same street and I noticed if you keep going down the street, the rates get more in your favour. A real laugh.

There's another good one near where the old HMV used to be in TST too, turn left towards the bay, if coming from Nathan Road (the street is Hankow Rd, I believe). I can't remember their name, off hand. It shows all the currencies on an electric board. Best rates, to me, for Kowloon. They are also only opened during business hours.

The banks give great rates too, but charge a service fee like 10 HKD. So tell them to go to hell. And to save HKD, just take the A-12 bus rather than the Airport Express train to and from the airport. I'm still trying to figure out what bus to take from Tung Chung station to the airport (different train, same track, ridiculously cheaper), anyone know?

Take bus S1, just outside Exit B of the Tung Chung station. Approximately every 7 ~ 10 minutes.

Well, after seeing all the posts, I decided to go to 8 MK. It was pretty easy to find, as per previous instruction to exit on A2 exit of the MK station, crossed the street, and there I was. I went up the stairs to essentially the 3rd floor in the US system, and some guy came out to greet me. Here, I don't think the previous post emphasized this enough, the place is a dive, even more divy than some places I have seen in Shenzhen. If you smoke, bring some smokes to cover up the musty smell of the place. It's nothing disgusting, just not pleasant. The rooms are pretty divy. I told papa what I wanted, and waited for 15 minutes or so for the first girl, which was too tall and fat for me. I waited for another 15 minutes for another girl. I have to say that the two girls I saw were both pretty young, below 22. The girl I ended up with was around 20 and was quite tight down there. Her attitude was not great (though I did wake her up from her sleep as I went there at 4pm). Total damage HKD 360 for short CBJ and FS.

I don't know where else to ask this and I am totally out of my element here (I mostly monger in Germany and in Montreal) but:

I have Hong Kong Dollars from the early 1990s.

Are these still accepted or exchangeable for the current currency?

Or are they better off being sold as collectible items on say, Ebay?

Makes sense about the girls in wanchai giving the 'cold shoulder' to non-english speaking people since they themselves speak english more than cantonese. I'll keep that in mind, and 'charming' the bouncer, will try, without getting my arse kick thinking I'm hitting on him, haha

By the way, I cancelled my hotel booking. Did it with agoda.com but wasnt too pleased with the service, so I cancelled and decided to book a hotel when I arrive in Hong Kong,

I know it's riskier, but I did it before when I went to Japan, and (believe it or not) they (booking at the airport) gives the best rate

Thanks for maintaining such a fun town. I doubt if I can add much to such a splendid forum, but will try. Can I ask two questions first?

Had a nice young lady accompany me home last night and found out that Laguna and Boracy are islands in the PI. How appropriate. I was aiming for a curvalicious latin american at Fenwicks, but decided to walk the block first (Neptunes, Galaxy, Stickey Fingers, etc.) When I got back she was climbing in a cab. Oh well, this is the third time I have seen her out so I'm sure I'll get another chance.

My experience is that Laguna is a younger crowd, with better dancing and standing lap dances from the lasses. Fenwicks is definately better if you want variety (latin, russian, but did not see any africans). Neptunes is a bit loungy for me.

Fuji bldg is alive and well. Barbie on 17 is enthusiastic, but couldn't cope so avoid if you are on the large side. In Europe they have buildings like that, but the girls sit in the doorway chatting and what not. That is a much better system so you can easily see eveyone who is available.

After two philipinas off lockart I can say GFE is not on the menu. Sweet and all, but the menu was a little limited. Both of them tried to get me to go to sleep so they could do whatever. No way. ST is for my protection.

Some of the earlier reports of distinction list two MPs on Lockhardt in CWB, but both are gone so don't bother. I intend to check out YMT and golden mile, but never seem to make it past lockhardt. Not complaining too much though.

this site has given me so much information, not only about hong kong, but other places in the world that i have traveled. most of the travel has been on business, so my experiences are from the perspective of a traveling business man. i tend to be out early in the evenings, and not out much past midnight. so here is my hk experience. i give you my experience, as i saw it. if anyone wants to say i paid too much, or should have done. then keep it to yourself. i am adding to the collective knowledge here, not bashing anyone, and hope i don’t get bashed.

sunday was my first day, i took the high speed ferry from tsim sha tsui (tst) to central and did the tourist thing, going to victoria peak. on my way there is did see the ladies on their blankets as this is servant day off. they will, hang out in the parks, mostly filipino, but also malaysian and indonesians. one particularly attractive lady saw me looking at her and said hi. should have stopped. later i took the trolley to wan chi where i heard the real action takes place.

the wan chi nightclub district is along lockhart rd roughly between fenwick st and fleming rd. i got there about 2pm. first i went to laguna’s cause i heard this is the place for the filipino ladies to hang on their day off. i got a beer, and hoped my eyes would adjust to the dark. i could see maybe 5 female shapes, but couldn’t tell much more so took a hike. lot’s of activity on lockhart rd, so i found the bridge, a small bar that has open windows that look over the street. i met 2 cute indo’s there. they were drinking a beer, so i afford to buy another. one of them said she wanted a margarita, my reply is i wanted a lexus, but i wasn’t going to get one; would she like another beer. so we all got beer and talked. both are from indonesia, both work are child care workers, and have been in hk for 8 years. we watched many ladies going into the disco across the street, and the action on the street, which was quite entertaining. they didn’t want to go anywhere else, so i left them and headed out.

i went past club romania, which i guess is a hostess bar. i don’t know why i ended up there, but i did. i got a beer for $54 hk, and these two ladies joined me, and started to talk, they asked that i buy them a drink, which i did. their drinks it turns out are $220hk. the mamasan or waitress, say pay later. guys’ that’s a mistake. always ask the price. any way they both drop drawers and we have a good time looking and feeling. one has small tits and shaved pussy, the other bigger tits and hairy bush. they want to go to the hotel, which is going to be like $2000 hk. none of these ladies are much to look at and are probably in their 30’s. i decline and head out. there are so many of these bars, with older ladies out side, trying to entice you in. offer cheap beer, and beautiful ladies. the real business is the ladies drinks. the women are paid a commission for the drinks, and that is how they make their money, and to pay back their contract to whomever sponsored them to come to hk.

next i found my way to the showbiz night club. i met this young cute half japanese and half filipino. i got my beer and she got a drink in one of the back rooms. we played for a while, and then the mamsan came over for the next step. for $1500 we go to a love hotel close by for an hour. so, i take her up on the deal. shower, suck and fuck. it was good, not great. then we talked for awhile. she is on her third tour of hk. she is the oldest in her family in the pi. she showed me pictures of her family, and her "boyfriend" who lives in england. and her house in pi. they were relocated after the volcano. so, after the hour, another quick shower, and i walk her back to the club and head home around 6pm.

monday evening after dark i am walking through the square near the tst centre, and lady approaches and says, want beautiful women? all of a sudden girls who were sitting on the benches converge. i like one so made a deal. the deal here was $800 for 2 hours, in my hotel. i go to my room and 10 minutes later this cute chinese girl is knocking at my door. we shower and play around and she points at the clock and indicates 10, well that’s less than 2 hours, but more than 1 so, ok. we are going at it, when there is a knock on the door. it’s her "friend" she comes in and hands me her phone and mamasan is on the phone, with a 2 girl offer. i have only $100 hk left in local money. i tell the mamasan that’s all i have and don’t want the second. she says ok, the second girl will stay. i give her the $100 and she is out the door. now i am pissed, and couldn’t get hard again. so time’s up and she leaves. she wants a tip, but i said her friend got her tip.

later in the week, i got back to wan chi in the evening around 6. i avoid all the come on’s from the mamasans on the street and try to find fenwicks which i heard was a place where i might find a freebee if i had some game. fenwick’s has no happy hour, so there is no one there. i go back to laguna, next on the list. just as described. when you go up the stairs to your immediate right are ladies from europe and africa. to the left is a small room off the dance floor where the indo’s hang, and the rest are filipinos. i got a $20hk beer and mingle. i talk to a couple of filipinos, not so good looking up close. i found my way to the indo section and these 2 girls are dancing and they are really dancing good. really hot. i walk over and tell them they dance quite well. sit down and join them, dance with them. they bought their own drinks, which i think is free any way during happy hour. they are both restaurant workers enjoying their night off and have holiday the next day. we dance and drink and have a good time. i zero in on one and start touching and kissing. after a while we leave and head to my hotel across the bay. the ferry is closed, after the long walk, so we get a taxi, making out in the back the whole way. get to my room and shower, as she is really drunk, and then we had the wildest time in bed. she was as wild in bed as she was on the dance floor. after 3 hours and a couple of nuts; i got her a cab and sent her on the way.

in summary, watch out for the hostess bars, they are all out to sell you expensive ladies drinks. they may say they are topless bars, but are all the same hostess places. there seems to be a social system, where the locals are on top, the filipinos, indos’s etc are next, because they speak english, and then the mainland chinese, because they don’t speak english. wan chi is where the action is and there are freebee’s to be had. these ladies are domestics and are looking for boyfriends and husbands. play your cards and for the price of a few drinks and a cab ride, you will have a great time.

The US Navy decided to go back to Japan as they had already turned the boats around so there will be no Navy here this week.

Wan Chai was interesting last night as everything from the bars, to the girls, to the cops were all staffed up for 8,000 sailors and almost no one showed up as most local expats stayed away. It was a little weird.

I had a great time though and wound up with 2 girls for 2 hours. Gave them each 600 and they were happy. One was a lady whom I had not seen for a year and a half who was looking after a new gal on her first trip here. We broke the new girl in nicely and I have some great pics.

If they were issued in the early 1990s I think they should still be legal tender. Pre-1997 banknotes did NOT become counterfiet at the time of the Handover, although new designs were issued then (for coins as well) where the image of the Queen was needless to say replaced with something else...

There are three banks issuing notes in Hong Kong: HSBC, Standard Chartered, and the Bank of China. They are always changing the design of banknotes here, and are now starting to switch to the plastic money (such as they use in Australia) but old notes still circulate (especially green ten dollar notes). Only the really old, large-size notes from the early 80s and before are no longer accepted.

Only other thing I might mention, is that there was a scandal earlier this year when a lot of fake 1000 dollar notes got circulated, I think the 2001 and 2002 issues. But many merchants still won't accept them, regardless what year they were issued.

One other thing: in Macau, they will not accept pre-1997 HK coins (with the Queen's image). I do not know the reason for this weird attitude, since the coins are still legal tender here.

While flitting through HK on the way from elsewhere back to Europe I was determined to find some action at the expense of sleep during this short stop.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Kowloon. Tried the bar there as it is a famous pick up joint. It was very crowed and I only saw two girls not in conversation, so I opted for the "sure thing" of the equally famous 37 Dundas Street, jumped in a taxi and was there in 10 mins.
