I used to be a big fan of Vila Mimosa. I found plenty of gems at VM, charging R$25.
After they raised the prices at VM to R$40 I almost stopped going there.

Today I gave VM a try. I was really surprised of the relatively large number of 8´s and 9´s. Very good indeed. Prices R$40-50.

My feelings exactly. I recently went thinking, why bother at these prices? It was quite a laugh at Rs30 all in, and a few beers, banter, maybe a dance, and try two or three girls as the night wore on. i know most people posting here don't give a shit, but i'll say it again. balcony is constantly watched by the police. there were some very high profile "child porn / **** sex" busts in 2013 related to people who frequent the place, and the residents in the apartment building over the restaurant constantly complain to the cops. so if you go there, you are likely being watched / recorded by rio police. that may not be a big deal to someone here on vacation (though maybe it should be) , but my god is it a huge deal if you live here. caveat emptor.
