I don’t prefer to get back there again because it seems to become a place mostly for tourists who pay whatever is told by girls!

OK, this is dubai. Would you pay 200, 300 dhs to lay out for an afternoon, catch some rays by the pool, go swimming, some snacks, some drinks (non-alcoholic by choice)? No? Well neither would the now ex-Miss Thursday.

Good to catch up with Rana Tubs BC and Bravo last night. Funny to bump into Bravo and his girl - turns out she was the same girl Rana took the previous night ("biggest rack in the history of the universe"). Small world!

While I agree with all the comments ref pricing it really does come down to your negotiation skills, timing and your luck. The girls are still there for 500 if you look hard enough and negotiate well. The problem in Dubai is rampant inflation and the LE both tightening up on supply and making the girls want to make every job worthwhile, also the reputation is spreading and many visiting tourists and businessmen will simply pay what is asked. Fortunately taxi drivers will still take the accidental mongers to the Cyclone rather than the triangle when asked for a place with girls - hence the Cyclone prices.

For the regulars the old haunts still function well. The Imperial Suites seems to be taking up where the York and Jockies have left off. My 50/50 rule mongering pal struck gold there on Wednesday night. He has spent all week doing his reconnaissance by getting up at midnight and going to Regal/Imp Suites. As per the 50/50 rule his taste is small packages.

At midnight in the Suites a Chinese gem appeared, small young beautiful. No English so the negotiation was done by counting fingers. In this case 3 fingers no 4 fingers yes. Another solution to hard negotiation is to come to AD as prices generally cheaper here though qulaity always gets a higher reward. But that does mean a car ride and some satellite navigation for some mongers!

Just back from Iran (Tehran). The P4P scene there is alive and well.

Why? Because they can! Free market economy. Now, if everyone stopped going to Cyclone, they would have to revise their policies. But since that will never happen... they charge what the market will bear.

As above, same for the wg's. After a couple of months, any wg will know her place in the pecking (or should that be pricking) order. Some will remain at the [i]entrance[/i] venues like Astoria, Imperial, while others move up to Cyclone, Premiere, etc. Those a-listers can and do charge what the market will bear. 1000? 1500? 2500? More power to them. Market keeps itself in check. When they can't get the prices, prices will drop. But until then...

But nobody says [b]YOU[/b] have to pay those prices. Other venues besides Cyclone exist; there are certainly plenty of other wg's interested in your business.

An elective, yes, but a requirement, no. Like any good educational source, this forum allows you to learn from [u]others'[/u] mistakes, not your own. Not to say you won't make your own mistakes, but some reading can reduce their number.

But understand the limits of the forum. Residents most likely will NOT know about hotels, except from what visitors report. Everyone has their own favorite venue, for whatever reason - it might work for you, it might not. It is P4P, but there are some personal dynamics involved - one punter's GFE may not be delivered for another.
